Wade been coasting since that 2014 postseason run. And he coasted for years before that. Honestly as much as I love dude, I hope another elite SG pops up one day and takes his spot as 3rd SG. The gap in late career effort between him and Kobe is just frightening

That’s going to take a lot and a while. Outside of harden, who most people find insufferable, not one SG is even half of what Wade was in his prime.

Harden really is our last hope at that position, and he’s probably gonna get shoe horned as a PG eternally at this rate :francis: his offense skill set is still some of the best ever, and he can facilitate well, but the nikka’s intangibles man. In the playoffs that dude just doesn’t give a shyt :martin: why did God take Brandon from us :mjcry: he was the bridge between Kobe to the next great one :mjcry: Why is the position so bland and flavorless now :mjcry:

Some of the best scoring guards are points, Prime Drose, Russell Westbrook, Steph curry, Kyrie Irving, John Wall, Damian lillard etc. that takes away from the SG position. Some of these guys are point guard height, but SG skill set.

Wade has not been washed for years. Just two years ago he was defeating a very good Hornets team before taking a very good Raptors team to 7 after losing Whiteside. That's what makes this sudden decline jarring.

It shouldn't be that surprising though. Wade was the same age in those playoffs (34) as Kobe was when he blew his achilles out, so he was still performing at a high level as Kobe. If Kobe was on stacked teams where he wasn't force fed to be the #1 still he'd probably have similar numbers in his final years (taking his injury into account)

Difference with Kobe was that he adapted and aged better with his game. That achilles injury plants a what if to his career because unlike Wade he was still a top 10 (arguably top 5) player at the time. Where I give credit to Wade is that he knew when to step back. I don't know if Kobe would've

Even with that said I still think Wade can contribute to this Cavs team

Don’t even put that bum Harden in the same sentence as the gawd D Wade. :scust:

:patrice: who was the other superstar wade had in 06 when he beat dirk and the mavs?
Shaq. (And the FT line :mjpls:)

Who did Dirk have with him when he beat LeBron, Wade, Bosh in 11?

Dirk anchored a 50-win team for over a decade.

Wade struggled for bottom seeds in the East most of his career.
