Shane vs test

After that, Shane and test proved they were incredible dark horses.
usually matches do not catch me by surprise.

Like the terry Taylor vs mr perfect match. Someone quoted earlier.
That never caught me off guard as terry Taylor and hennig were huge favorites of mine .
Way before coming to the wwf.
before being neutered in draw by the wackass wwf braintrust and booking.

I dont think anyone thought it was gonna be bad, but the 1st of the recent taker/shawn matches, I remember people had their doubts how good the match was gonna be and worried it was gonna be too slow...

then we were all :ooh:

Sheamus and Big Show match that they just had. Though this was gonna be a snoozefest. Was pleasantly surprised that they put on a pretty decent match.

Batista vs Taker at WM23

I thought it was gonna be another one of those horrible Undertaker Wrestlemania matches, but that shyt was actually really good. Made me respect Big Dave as a worker way more than I had before.

The Red Rooster "Terry Taylor" vs Mr Perfect @ summerslam 89

Dope match.

:scusthov: No it wasn't. It had the potential to be... Terry got injured 2 minutes into it, fell out the ring, came back in and took a quick Perfect Plex to end it. I'm sure it wasn't gonna be a 15-minute epic anyway, but it clearly got cut way short due to Terry's knee fukking up.

But on the real... SHEAMUS has been getting it in a lot this year, and I never thought he was terrible but definitely not as good as he's been lately. Had good matches with Bryan, Barrett, Sandow, Tensai, and even Big Show of all people. He's stepped up tremendously... now only if his character didn't go lame and he didn't have that long ass weak ass feud with ADR.

I was gonna say all the piff matches between HHH and HBK during 2002-2004 but then I asked myself: Were people really surprised how great these matches were? :shaq2:

Think about this for a sec. Here you have two great workers who know each other like the back of their hands and can count on the other to bring their A game every single time, and for some reason we shouldnt expect the matches to live up to the hype? Come on man :wow:

I know Morrison was in it too but that ladder match he had with Sheamus ended up being better than I thought it would be.

Cena/Lashley also surprised the hell out of me. I remember having low expectations for the match and it ended up pretty good, even Meltzer gave them a good rating for it, say what you will about him but overall from RR 2007 to his injury Cena was putting on top notch matches in 07.

I remember this, the hate for Batista was at in all-time high on the IWC. Mostly because he had a rough 2006 and there were rumors about them letting Batista end Taker's streak that year. Kick-ass match tho.
