Naw I ain't interested in playing an all-out Spread Offense. I want to be Multiple on Offense. Give me FSU, Bama (when Doug Nussmeier was the OC), Harsin/Boise St., or OU's offense and I'm good.Anyways like you said, I think both Swoopes & Heard can play in Watson's Offense. They just not ready this season, especially Jerrod Heard who is only a True Freshman. They need another off-season/spring football/summer workouts to get better. This is why reasonable folks were praying & hoping David Ash stays healthy, so Heard can redshirt.
The 1 thing you can criticize Coach Strong & Coach Watson on is they fukked up by not getting a Transfer QB and/or JUCO QB in the off-season. EVERYBODY knew we were fukked if David Ash went down with an Injury.

Swoopes is a good QB prospect. I don't understand why starting him is out of the question. He has a strong arm and did well despite a lack of preparation time, which all QBs need to get acclimated to their game plan receiving targets.

I's be sympathetic, but he clearly prioritized "cleaning up the program" and getting the "thugs" out over playing the game, so he's made his choice and has gotta live with it. I figure as long as they get to a bowl game he can buy himself another year on the grounds that he's still got to undo Mack Brown's damage, but the next season they've gotta win 9+ or .

texas is just going to have to take this L and continue to improve into next year
Those Texas's fans and boosters want Charlie to be the magical negro and have the program turn around with the quickness and it going to be a project. But he cannot afford to get blown out in these games. Texas has to be competitive so that he has time to bring in his players and play his style. If they keep getting blown out, they going to have a lynch squad at his house for real.

Honestly, Strong doesn't want Texas recruits like that. He want Florida kids because they're about playing pro style offenses to get to the NFL. At the same token, UT fans just want to win.
