This blantently contradicts every thing we have seen and heard up to this point.

GameStop president Tony Bartel said PS4 sell-through since launch on November 15 is 80 percent higher than the total number of PlayStation 3s sold during GameStop's entire 2006 fiscal year.

Looking ahead to the Xbox One launch this evening, Bartel said the value of reservations and additional allocation of the next-generation console is 15 percent higher than the total number of Xbox 360s sold in fiscal 2005.

To be fair...XB1 is launching in 13 countries so they should be able to ship at least 750-800k for launch worldwide.

they did shortly allow ps4 preorders a day before launch too

basically what happened with both systems is enough people probably didn't have the money to pay for their pre-ordered systems or changed their mind looking at the launch lineup and canceled it and it freed up some pre orders for both systems
