i agree, different eras. Go to any church in the 80s/90s and preachers were always holding someone like this to talk to them and sermon especially the youngins.
back then it was about community and that's what happens when you bring in non-blacks and non-community into your house - they question everything. She looks like a little girl and he probably thought she was and was up there treatingi her like a youth singer and showing how proud he was and encouraging.
