Depend on a All Star and Finals MVP to have an historic poor shooting performance brehs :mjlol:
They're already bad shooters, its simply the most likely outcome. Steph and Klay are "the best shooters ever" and they had historically poor shooting performances when it mattered last season :umad:

because he missed wide open shots that were a direct result of the Cavs throwing the kitchen sink at Curry

Every great team has a safety valve that needs to hit their shots when the superstar is being pressured. Barnes failed miserably in that role in the final three games shooting 15%

If people on this forum said JR should be blamed for why the Cavs lost a series they would be laughed right off the fukking internet

As for the Cavs throwing the sink at Curry...yall called that dude an all time great, said that he was better than lebron, said that he basically erase bron's legacy. Geting extra defensive attention is standard operating procedure for all great players

The threads are found easily enough if you take the time to look for them

In the previous finals the Warriors threw everything at lebron and he still put up good enough performances that they snuck out two games with a depleted squad

Again...blaming Harrison Barnes for why the Warriors lost is a copout

No they wouldn't. If JR Smith shot 15% during that stretch he'd be getting destroyed by Cavs fans just as Barnes is from Warriors fans.

Curry is on the path of all time greatness having turned in consecutive historically great campaigns, not better than LeBron and one dumbass made that thread about him erasing LeBron's legacy. Yes, extra defensive attention is standard. Role players hitting their wide open shots because of the extra attention is also standard.

This is not about LeBron. Dude is a top 3 player all time, nuts to hold everybody to that standard

Barnes is a part of the reason why the Warriors lost the Finals. Not the reason, there are obviously several of them

He shot 5 of 32 the last 3 games of the series. He shot 7 of 23 on wide open 3's (nobody within 6 feet) the first six games of the series, and he didn't improve that percentage the last game either. He turned in three consecutive John Starks in game 7 type showings.

It can be true that he shot poorly and still not be the main culprit for why they lost

We can get to SEVERAL reasons why the warriors lost before we get to Harrison Barnes

He's not the main culprit, but he's a huge reason. Same as Mike bibby and Joel Anthony aren't the main reasons the heat lost the 2011 finals, them being so bad allowed Dallas to scheme so heavily on LeBron. If Anthony shot better than 29.4% from the field and bibby was able to do something besides get torched on defense and shoot under 30% on open 3's, their defensive scheme wouldn't have worked. Similar concept here. Cleveland threw the kitchen sink at curry and with their safety valve missing so many open shots, things gradually fell apart. Every team that wins it all tends to have a role player play huge in key situations. Great examples are JJ barea in 2011 for Dallas, Tristan Thompson this year, Iggy last year, Shane battier in 2012 and game 7 2013, Mike Miller in game 5 to name some recent examples. When they miss all those looks, it becomes all the more glaring.
