Well, I can see how the common man can feel some kind of way, considering looming political dynasties in the case of Jeb Bush and Hillary Clinton. However, its quite obvious that for the comman man, personality trumps policy, and if he/she were paying attention on the policy front, he/she would find that the Bush (R) adminstration's policies on tax cuts, the war in iraq and lack of oversight on wall street definitely were key sources of their grievances. The common man would also remember that republicans pretty much became obstructionists during obama's tenure, holding the country hostage for their dumb ass ideals. For the common man to vote for republican, who are still pretty much the establishment but with a new face, goes to show unaware the common man really is.

If the common man can see that democrats would have rather him/her live by providing healthcare, even though they may possibly be in bed with wall street, unlike Republicans, who wouldn't care if he/she lived or died, and was also in bed with wall street, then yeah I would say the common man is aware.
If the common man would see Democrats acknowledging climate change while Republicans deny something that would significantly affect the survival of their progeny, then I would say the common man is aware.
It is key to note that both stances for the Democrats don't even favour the elite as such. Single payer removes the profit motive, while climate change initiatives help a burgeoning renewable industry, disfavoring the established fossil fuel industry. We are also omitting a big one which is free college, something Republicans would never favor.
Hey, why can't it be a win win situation, where common man gets his amenities while the politicians get their bribes? Shidd.....

Democrats, Republicans or Govt. do NOT provide healthcare, and Democrats are not TRYING or ever tried to provide healthcare, not even Bernie sanders.
They are pitching to Financially MANAGE Healthcare. BIG DIFF!
It is not Govt. that provides healthcare it would be American Taxpayers, Govt. would just be there to redistribute. That's what socialism is.
