I was actually talking to John Cena about this. He told me Steve Austin talked to him at one show and asked him how things were going, and John said, "The show's going pretty well." And Austin looked up at a part of the arena that was tarped off — the building was maybe 90 percent sold out — and he said, "Back when I was here, these arenas were full."

Rest of the interview here.

Which is why Daniel Bryan will never get buried. He gets the business of wrestling, as people will say. "Daniel Bryan is being buried, he is not in the main event!" when you say main event, that means the Two Guys. People don't concept the Main Event, being the Main Event. They think it means Bryan is getting buried, which isn't the case. He is a Upper Tier wrestler like Punk, who both are wrestling on the midcards.

It takes a whole effort to get all these people inside, because the entire card must be solid. In order for it to be solid, you need a great Upper Tier, solid Middle Tier and reliable Low Carders to give a few minutes. Which is what Attitude Era had.

Sometimes though the WWE enforces wrestlers to stay the same character, which will never work because the same character will get boring; bits and pieces have to change. If people are so worried about trying to main event, they will never be the main event. What they should say is, "I am going to sell this story to the fukking teeth."

Tweet, post Video about it. Talk shyt to your opponent, in order to draw the interest; even if it's a 10 minute match. If all these wrestlers were to post shyt, and launch social media ether the stadiums would be packed. Daniel Bryan is doing all he can to stay relevant, and make sure he earns a buck.

I don't see wrestling ever getting back to how it was back then. It was real to people cause every little thing wasn't being exposed/leaked/posted on social media.

In some respects you are right, I just think that without a strong #2 company in North America, WWE has no reason to consistently give it their best since they know they always have a core audience that will tune in and buy their merch/PPV
