How was it a good situation? He's getting doubled and tripled every play with a shyt QB making his job harder and no legitimate other receiving threat. He was their offense.

1.)Most great wide receivers are double teamed
2.)When you have no other receiving threat that means the ball isn't being spread around which means more targets to the number one(Calvin)
3.)They had no run game, a bad defense and a big armed QB who set records for passing attempts. In terms of putting up numbers that's a great situation for a number one WR.
4.)Even if I were to agree with Stafford being a "shytty QB"(He's not) there is a history of wide Recievers still dominating despite have mediocre to terrible talent at the QB position

Ab had 136 for 1834 last year. 10 TD's. 71% of his targets were caught. Cal's year that you quoted was 60%

I'm taking AB

Watch film on Calvin and you will see the kinds of scheme they tried on that boy. Some are very fukkin good but he managed to escape it and get the catch.

AB is just fast and can escape a cb but aint on Calvin level.

In my life the two receivers who transcended top-notch defenses are Moss and Calvin. They are 1a and 1b in my opinion.

All those sorry QB's are throwing it to Calvin damn near every play to...

People love to bring up the "he played with a sorry qb" argument for a receiver but never bring up that sorry qb is much more likely to lean on that receiver and throw him the ball damn near every play...I would say that more than makes up for another guy having a great QB like Big Ben...who is to smart to be consistently throwing at a triple covered AB...something Stafford never shied away from doing...

Yep...As a Cardinals fan, saw it so many times with our trash QB's.......John Skelton....Derek Anderson...Kevin Kolb..Max Hall

It was always "Throw it to Fitz"....trying to compensate for their shytiness

Calvin.
And it's really not even close.

6'5, 240, running a 4.35 forty.
Great hands.

What's crazy is the talent the Lions drafted in the mid 2000s.

2003: Charles Rodgers
2004: Roy Williams
2005: Mike Williams
2007: Calvin Johnson

Obviously they all didn't pan out. But if they did...

I mean from a raw talent perspective, that's unreal.

It IS kinda whacky that this is a discussion when CJ put up the kinda numbers he did with THAT QB and with THAT coverage.

I miss that man :to:

:dwillhuh: You do realise Antonio Brown has 1834 yards last season right? AND 10 touchdown catches to go with that. He would have broken that record if Ben was healthy all last season, easily.

He had 1700 yards 13 TDs in 2014 as well

And there's the reason Prime CJ >>>>>>

thanks for playing!

No, the last two years he was getting locked up in one on one coverage.

Some teams double teamed him,but there were times he disappeared because he wasn't the same dude anymore.
