This is what you nikkas for comparing this inefficient midget to people way outside his talent class.

AI is in the class with the great players. Grant Hill, Tracy McGrady and those kinda guys. He ain't even seeing the likes of Dirk or Barkley so stop propping him up with the elites

:ehh:

Had Grant Hill and Tracy Mcgrady stayed healthy, you can make an argument of picking either one of them over Durant!

Tracy or Grant were never the scorers Durant has shown plus they couldn't stay healthy.

I don't think people realize that Durant has put up some of the most absurd mixture of scoring and efficiency we've seen since Jordan but he's only 25.

That's why I said "Had they stayed healthy"

Tracy Mcgrady was a beast when he was hot and could score with the best of them, granted not as efficient as Durant...but as far as an individual scoring output, he was just as unstoppable as anyone in NBA history (like the 62 he scored on the Wizards in 04). I'm talking T-Mac's 4 or 5 peak years, before injury.

I think Grant Hill could have been just as good or greater than Durant, Durant would just have scoring over him. Grant Hill could give you 25, 9 rebounds and 8 assist consistently when he was healthy. Key word is healthy...obviously, that wasn't the case. But lets not sit here and act like had McGrady and especially Grant Hill stayed healthy, they wouldn't be in the conversation with Durant.

There's more to the game than just scoring bruh....

Grant didn't have the handle or the jumper that Durant has.

Love AI and after Jordan and Bron he's my favorite player ever. He may be my favorite player ever considering I was in my teen's when he was in G-town and I watched him from that point on till he retired. I followed his career from the start and he'll always be that dude but no way you pick him over KD if they are both available in a draft. KD is a freak of nature and comes along once every 20 years. And though this has nothing to do with the thread topic I realized as I got older that AI was inefficient and whatnot but think about those two years in Denver when he had a legit 1a/option in Melo. He shot 45 percent both years and if he had that kind of threat his whole career and had those Denver percentages he'd be looked at in a much more favorable light. People say guys like Russy are better but AI shot 42 percent for his career while Russy shoots 43 percent with KD and 3 plus inches and probably 30 pounds on Iverson.

And Grant Hill was a better playmaker...

Durant jumper was more wet, but Grant Hill was shooting 50% during his good years, they're even in turn overs, despite the fact that Grant Hill had to run an offense, in addition to scoring...Grant Hill never had the luxury of playing with another All-Star like Westbrook, during his healthy years.

And on another note...lets not sit here and act like we haven't seen Durant, look like an introvert during pivotal playoff moments with Westbrook looking like the real damn leader of the team.

Durant shooting 50% is more impressive because of the amount of 3's he takes. Are you going to hold it against Magic for playing with Karem and Worthy? or Kobe with Shaq/Pau Gasol? Durant standing around has nothing to do with his skill or willingness to win as a basketball player.

what?? t-mac couldn't score like durant???

he could score in more ways than durant could!

fine durant got some efficiency on him but the difference between .45% and .51% (their highest years) is not enough for you to delcare that they aren't in the same conversation. that is ridiculous. especially since durant played with other big time scorers who were there to take some of the load off.

plus KD isn't comfortable shooting from everywhere on the floor. too often in the playoffs late in games he was cornered into takin a bad shot. you couldn't do that with mcgrady.

t-mac could score anywhere and anyhow.

'Shrug'

Sure, it's possible. I

But Durant is an MJ-tier scorer when it comes to output and efficiency, he's becoming a better playmaker (As shown when Westbrook was out), and he's still improving.

They're great players with a bunch of talent but Durant is in that rare class of top ten GOAT potential in talent. AI being in the T-Mac and Hill class isn't a knock on him. That's elite. Durant is, so far, on another level.

Grant hill is good but he's pretty much a poor man's Lebron. T-Mac is Kobe's slightly more physically gifted but way less durable and strong-willed brother.

yo you guys put wayyyyy too much emphasis on "efficiency".

it really ain't THAT big a deal if someone shoots the ball at a clip 4 or 5 percent better than the other guy.

and i'm not even tryna take away from durant cause he is ABSOLUTELY an amazing talent but when you see people declaring him an "MJ-tier" scorer then somethin is definitely wrong.

32ppg from MJ and 32ppg from KD are NOT the same thing no matter what the fukkin percentages are.
