I don't understand why people think Prime Kobe was an inherent ballhog. Do yall not realize that the team was absolutely terrible and needed him to carry the offensive load? If he had a cast that could help him carry the offense he could use his energy in other areas like defense and playmaking. That's why it's so criminal that Kobe didn't play on a contender in his more prolific years we were robbed of historic finals performances and imo I think people's hate for Kobe wouldn't be as deep as it is now. Timing is everything and it was all bad for Kobe, funny how he still managed all this success tho. :yeshrug:

I absolutely hate that prime Kobe got stuck with that team. I mean his second best player was Odom for god's sake. And playing in a deeper western conference where you can't sneak into the playoffs with a .500 record. It let's people use the "well a prime X player" never missed the playoffs like Kobe did in his prime so he's obviously not as good as them ignoring all context of how it occurred.

Kobe at that time was a ridiculous playmaker but he had no shooters around him or finishers. Kwame couldn't catch, Smush couldn't shoot, Luke Walton was a good playmaker but not a scorer at all. Who was he gone pass to? I'm taking prime Kobe simply cause he was always on attack mode and way more willing to truly dominate than Lebron. I think Lebron is a more unstoppable player but does use all his tools to force his will on games enough.

That's partly due to Lebron going in taking the easy rebounds from the big men. Only 26% of his rebounds this last season were contested. It's not like he's going in getting the tough boards.

It's hilarious how there is some off the wall explanation or excuse for every area where Bron has an edge. :heh: No matter how you slice it his teams sucks at rebounding and there is no one else on the squad willing or able to pick up that slack. Kobe has never had to contribute on the interior like Bron does while still play-making and scoring and defending perimeter guys.

If I pick Bron, do i get the 3rd best
sg ever and a Pf who put up 24 and 11 as a first option..?

You also gotta throw in the Goat 3 pt shooter to save my legacy just in case im on the verge on being 1/3 in the finals.

Wade is the 3rd best shooting guard ever :mjlol::mjlol::mjlol::mjlol:...because Mark Jackson said so :mjlol::mjlol::mjlol:

Bosh numbers before Miami is mute...seeing how he has been nothing there but a stretch 4 who shoot's 3's and long two's:mjlol::mjlol::mjlol:

If you REALLY want to argue semantics...

If you take Kobe...you need...

1. Dominant big man, either with his size and scoring (Shaq)...his passing and versatility (Gasol)...
2. Phil Jackson...kobe never won shyt without him...
3. A point guard who doesn't need the ball to be successful, since Kobe has it in his hands all the time.
4. Several role players who are just fine playing with a guy who is going to shoot a ton...not play defense...and then pout and yell at other players for not doing...who fukking knows...i never understood why kobe sulked so much when he literally did/does nothing but shoot the ball...

Meanwhile...with Bron...you can find any old 2 guard who can't shoot from beyond 15 feet (plenty of those)...any old tall guy who can shoot 3's (plenty of those) and any old coach who is just not an idiot (might not be plenty of those though)...

You really comparing a guy who only won with all time great players and coaches to a guy who once took a Mike Brown coached team to the finals, and won 2 titles with a coach that spent a lot of his career being a video recorder :mjlol::mjlol::mjlol::mjlol:

Bron should get an award for taking a Mike Brown coached team anywhere...

Kobe spent half his career with an all time great coach and Bron spent half is career with a coach that got fired so many times he is currently collecting checks from at least 3 teams...

Prime Kobe would have 3 peated and possibly 4peated with the heat squad bron had
I think the 3 peat would be probable, Kobe wouldn't have allowed the Mavs to take him out of the game like they did. 4 peat though, I dunno about, Lebron was like the only heat player who had a good series. Plus the Spurs were doing some GOAT offense.

I'd take prime kobe over current LeBron. but not by a lot. Kobe's a top ten goat, and LeBron will be.

Probably Lebron. Only because I think he's more versatile and he can be dominant in different roles.

Really depends how you envision building and running a team, though.

He doesn't hold back.. He's just a different type of player. I hate these comparisons at times...

I don't see superb handles and speed from LeBron, not to insult the man's game in anyway but Prime Kobe? :leon: shyt even Kobe not too long ago was still :leon:

Can any of us name numerous times we have seen LeBron straight finesse nikkas outta they shoes? I rather watch Kobe.

And I guess Jordan isn't sensible with his BBall knowledge because he has picked Kobe already.

Yeah, but see that's the thing....

What is exciting, and how do you envision running a team in order to win games?
Because those two might not always be the same thing.

Like, for me personally...I believe an offense has to run from the inside out...not the outside in.

So a team with a good inside power presence (Center or a Power Forward) is the way I would go. And I think Lebron would fit better in my theoretical system.
A great SG (and Kobe aside, there have been many talented ones) don't really do as much to open the game up for other players...as a great inside presence does to open up the game for perimeter players.

Not shytting on your choice, just reiterating that it depends on how people think the best way to win is.

:ehh: you raise good points.

and to be honest, I've probably seen better passing from LeBron :russ: adding to the Kobe stereotypes

Kobe got that killer instinct that I think LeBron lacks doe :patrice:

How you sitting out down 15, 6 mins left in the Finals? :patrice::patrice:
