take brook lopez's best season and his scoring numbers are still nowhere near shaq's numbers in his prime...take kobe's best season and lebron isnt even close in terms of scoring. the brook lopez-shaq analogy is an incredibly dumb one, and i hope u realized that without me having to point that out.

Lebron's best season is 31.4 ppg 7.0 rpg and 6.6 apg game

Kobe's is 35.4 ppg 5.3 rpg and 4.5 apg.

So 4ppg game is "not even close" ?

Now compare their worst seasons... :merchant:

Kobe's best scoring season is 35 PPG on 45% shooting. Lebron is 30 PPG on 50%. That is literally about as even as it comes.

Lebron literally averaged 5 less points but higher percentage, more rebounds and almost 3 more assists.

Kobe averaged 4.5 assists on 35 points so he was responsible for anywhere between an extra 8 to 12 points (Depending on if it was a 2 or 3) on top of his points scored. So between 43-47 points that Kobe was responsible for when you take his passing into account.

Lebron averaged 8.6 assists on top of his 30 points do he was responsible for another 16 to 24 points on top of the 30 he put up himself. So Lebron was responsible for an extra 46 to 54 points when you factor in things like passing.

Kobe scored 5 more points on less efficiency because Lebron was dropping between 16-24 points of assists per game with his much better passing.

deandre jordan puts the ball in the basket more efficiently than lebron.../end thread

find better points...efficiency is position based. forwards are SUPPOSED to be more efficient than guards, just like centers are supposed to be more efficient than forwards. it doesnt make them "better", it just means they have less range and the luxury of taking easier shots. kobe is guarded three times as hard as lebron, based on the fact that he is a much more diverse scorer. any1 who argues this simply doesn't know basketball.

If DeAndre Jordan scored as many points as LeBron did, you'd have a point. But he doesn't, so you don't :rudy:

If being a forward would make Kobe more efficient, why don't they just move him to the 3? LeBron takes better shots because he chooses to, and because he's bigger, stronger, and faster. Im sorry that you feel it's unfair but there's nothing you can do about it. They play the same position on offense and you're here telling me that LeBron is only more efficient because of what he is listed at in the box score :heh:

The funny thing is that these nikkas is clowning they self. One of these nuthuggers posted that Lebron has attempted more FG per game than Kobe since they been in the league...

Lebron is still more efficient over his entire career than Kobe's most efficient season.

That's right. If Kobe posted Lebron's numbers averaged across his entire year, it's be his most efficient and most well-rounded season of all time.

yup!

due to the generally accpeted principles of rounding you learn in elemnetary school:
4.5 out of 10 shots = 5shots made
4.9 out of 10 shots = 5shots made

don't see the difference. :smoker:

So Kobe's about equal with Lebron in the amount of points they score while Lebron averages double the assists and 3 more boards a game.

Not only that but that principle fails when you realize that they're number of shot attempts aren't the same.

Kobe attempted 27 shots per game in 05-06 and made 12.7 of them to equal out to 35 PPG.

Lebron attempted 20 shots a game in 09-10 and made 10 of them to average 30 points a games.

So Lebron, on average took 7 less shots than Kobe but scored only 5 PPG less.

Again, Lebron scored a whopping 5 less points a game while shooting the ball 6 times LESS than Kobe Bryant.

How's that elementary math working for you?

:snoop:

very simple minded analysis from someone who obviously has never played sports

Let's compare fg% instead.
Lebron 49%
Kobe 45%

Is it close?

actually it is

thats like bron goes 10/20 and kobe goes 9/20

when you factor in kobe taking the tough shots at the end of the shot clock while lebron passes it to a teammate so they take the fg% hit, then what does the extra 1 shot made over 20 attempts really mean?

thats not even factoring in the boosted efficiency from fast break buckets and wide open jumpers. you cant compare the 2 as scorers in a half court set.

you stat nerds gotta start watching and understanding games.

Kobe had to make quite bit of bailout plays 05-06....kawme, smush, luke walton wasted time and give the ball back to kobe with like 3-4seconds on the shot clock. Hell Kobe is still a bailout guy.

When bron shots late in the clock it is usually cause he dribbles to much and not cause someone gave him the ball with 3-4 seconds left on the clock. Least bron had aggressive teammates in Cleveland....that wasn't on some stand and watch. He had bulls that could at least cut to the basketball and some creators in Moe Williams and that light skinned PG, and bobbie gibson.

you got stats for getting passed the ball with less than 4seconds on the shot clock?

Does it matter?

Prime Jordan > Prime Kobe | Prime LeBron

And it would be arguable to say that Prime Pippin > Prime LeBron, however, LeBron still has time on his side to make history.
