don't get me wrong, they were still some good and great songs here and there, but the "classic period" was over

I don't think he fall off as much as prince is a artist artist he like doing different things so either you love it or hate it. I sure prince could have made music that was something like what he was doing in his "purple years"

It doesn’t but and that album had some classic and great songs but his classic period was over
In fact some of those songs are songs he pulled from the vault and he reworked from his classic period

His classic period is from 80 to 87
He had a few great and even a few classic songs post that but his run purple run was over after 87

I will say he never fell off. He just fell into a different period of his career. Lovesexy was good to me based off how much I loved Alphabet St. as a 10 yr old in 88. But the subsequent albums were nowhere as good as the "Purple years" and I have them all. It was hit or miss though
