Rick by a long shot. I read a story on how Prince programmed a synthesizer for one of his albums and Rick James straight stole Prince's synth used it on his RICK JAMES album and then mailed the keyboard back with a thank you later.
Anybody who knows 80's synthesizer knows them shyts ain't easy to program. If you got a bunch of personal sounds on it, You shyt out of luck.

Somebody from Rick James' message board who used to work as a roadie for him, said that he(Rick) stole the equipments from Prince when they toured together, used 'em to record "Street Songs", sent the equipments back to him with a thank you note
rick james was definitely inspired by Prince when he made this.......

Prince won in the end. 1999 blows Street Songs outta the water. If the book is accurate, I bet you Part II will basically be him beefing Rick James.
