This is the title Vegeta choose for himself but thinking about it with the former king dead he should have been the king of all sayains. So did he choose this lesser title because he couldn't step out of his father's shadow or did he believe he was not worthy of the top spot because he couldn't avenge his race. Another possibilty is that deep down he knew there was one better than him who he couldn't surpass and as a result he couldn't accept the crown that only he cared about. What are your thoughts on it?

All good kings die with the crown. A good prince is supposed to take the title and resposibility when that happens. A good prince honors the legacy of the former king by trying to lead and do better by his people, not ignore and causr the death of the few they had left. A good prince does not honor his father by working for the man who killed him for years then failing to get revenge after finally taking his shot.
