He knew he had the baddest bands in the land.
The girls,the ride,the humor….
Band hitting w/ the b3 organ solo & jazz guitar solo…….
Prince just rapping in pimp voice
w/ that insane horn section. They probably cut that in the studio so fukkin fast. The intro
Hops out the Ride like "You…you you…let's go"
And most of the people referencing Prince who just know Purple Rain have no goddamn clue
even Mj/Rick James were probably like "Goddamn he isn't even singing on the track and he's killing it w/ his band"
The baritone horn stabs
Prince so cool he had the minnesota police force in the video.
Anyways, this thread is a starting point for lurkers who never seen or heard this song because you just know the standard hits. The fact this was done in "1992" when live bands were almost nonexistent in black music. Even MJ wouldn't cut live in a fukking studio, people were frightened as fukk. You can't deny the GOD level of the spirit of JB hitting on all cylinders.
No one was going to throw down w/ these guys.
A forgotten moment in black music history, SEXY MF is released as a single, mtv doesn't want to touch it, no one has any record like that out at the time and then after many tries for singles, he hits it w/ "7" which mind you NO One had a song like that on the radio or top 40.
I find it interesting this single hit in the UK
