I read quite a few Stephen King books in there lol. I stayed reading, working in the kitchen or working out. I only watched TV when The Ultimate Fighter was on. Dudes would be out in the main pod watching Lockup MSNBC, I'm sitting here like we're already locked up, why the fukk would you wanna watch other people locked up on TV

in the initial intake the make u lift ya shirtup n bra n flip out ya waistband then they run they hands take off ya shoes n socks. but when u actually go upstairs
u gotta strip nekkid raise ya titties up turn around spread ya butt cheeks n cough in front of everybody. one time i went thru detox n on to city jail with 2 saks of weed on me cuz the guard looked at me n was like fucc it she not searching me n sent me on to the tank n even when i got transferred to city jail they didnt do much of a search but by then the 2 saks was up my pusc n i was only in there for tickets so i didnt hafta do the strip search nekkid n bend n cough routine, i made it all the way home with the weed.

Can you request books from the outside?
What exercises did you do inside there to get swole?

i dont know about where he was at, but most places let you have books mailed in from a seller but they cant be hard cover.
some jails/prison only let you have 3 books in a cell at all times though

A friend of mine who touched down recently said the first and last years are the worst, would you agree?

First year is tough,but naw last year was joy for me,only thing that got to me was how was U going to deal with society this time around.

I cried once but that was it,shyt is weak in there and pointless, just do ya time and go home

My brother said when he was in he would hear grown men crying at night, some nikkas just crying because they're tired of being locked up and want to go home and other nikkas crying because they were being raped. Said you could tell the difference too

How do people get cell phones?
Did anybody try to escape while you were in? How easy/difficult would it be?

Most violent is blacks,whites are a close second.

People smuggle them in or guards smuggle phones in.

Yea,but escaping prison is damn near impossible, they always got caught and once you get caught you go straight to Level 5 so if you gonna escape better stay away

That reminds me of this white boy from Springfield, he came in bragging about how he ran off with someone's work and cash once, I guess one of that dude's ppl was in our pod, and overheard dude bragging about it. Needless to say he caught his ass slipping in the restroom, which was where most fights went down cuz there weren't cameras there. This is also why when I would take a shyt in that restroom, I would leave foot out of my pant leg in case someone tried to steal off on me and I wouldn't end up tripping myself up fighting back. When I was finally able to work in the kitchen however, they had their own private restroom in there so I only took shyts in there, peace and privacy

How good does your hands have to be in order to survive? Seems like an easy answer, but I feel like thumpin locked up is way different then thumpin on the streets

I mean if you can fight you good money,but you don't necessarily have to fight good to survive if you just mind your business, and nah fighting in prison and on the street is the same,only thing is you gotta see the nikkas you fight everyday,where as on the street you might not see that nikka for another year or never again. So in prison it's possible o always have tension with a nikka you fought.

Prison at night I'd just mfs making a whole much of noise. People always shouting out the window or banging on their cell doors.

The bang of the cell doors supplement a round of applause.

One thing I ain't seen in the thread is the case of how many people actually get killed in prison and it goes unreported by the media.

I'm combing through this thread but I've got two very basic questions.

Can you sleep during the day? Like could I just be like "I'm gonna take a nap" and go lock myself in my cell and snooze?

Also how free is water? Do I got to have comissary money for water or can I get that shyt almost whenever?

Sidenote:- Do you get a blanket? Something to cover yourself at night? Cam you buy or get one? Heck, can you use your bed sheet as one? Is it allowed?

Yea you can sleep,but you can't get under the covers after morning or its a ticket. Craziest shyt ever.

No water is available 24/7 breh.

-What state(s) were you in and did you do any fed time. I imagine doing time in louisana is way different than Cali , or PA, or Idaho, etc
-Are muslims just another gang in jail or are they a legit religious organization in there
-everyone says you should "stay to yourself" in jail. in my experience being quiet is the quickest way to getting tested. how/why is it different in jail? can't staying to yourself be perceived as being scared
-can you ever talk your way out of beef using logic or is it purely survival of the fittest in there?

Those dudes that do all that barking and acting tough are called cell soldiers out here is LA. My pops and my uncle was locked up for attempted murder and my other uncle was locked up for dope charges.

I almost got locked up fukking with some rich kids trying to act hood, I was lucky my mouthpiece was crisp

Yea most cats who bark ain't gon bite,but it is some serious cats in prison, nikkas who are real life monsters

But at the same time, I do kinda understand how some cats wear it as a badge of honor.
Doin hard time in a prison like Quinten, Folsom, Soledad, Vacaville ect and walkin on level 4 yards and surviving that shyt and gettin out without rattin, bein a punk etc in honorable in a sense.

Yea,I def respect most cats that been locked up and made it out mentally sans,shyt is tough and can make you go crazy if you mentally weak
