She didn't. She clearly said that Africa was not a monolith.

I'm talking about when she said

"If you ask the women of Africa"
"I lived in Africa, I go to Africa"

I think it'd be better had she said

"If you ask women across Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana and other African countries"
"I lived in Country A, I go to Country B"

I feel it's important to start changing the dialogue on how Africa is addressed. If you're talking about the continent at a multistate level, sure, that's akin to when people refer to Europe when discussing the EU or South East Asia as a regional trading bloc. If not, then its important that those in the know start changing the conversation.

I mean a few months back one of my coworkers took a 2 week trip to South Africa. But when she got back she was telling everyone "Oh, I just took this nice trip to Africa!"

I'm like there are over 40 countries on the continent. You gotta be specific.
