He committed suicide after a night of smoking dust with Tragedy, this was 1996.

Killer Black was a crazy, gun buster in QB. The reason nobody fukked with Havoc and Mobb Deep back in the early days because Killer Black and Littles was holding them down
Never heard about smoking dust with Tragedy being the reason :salute:
Killer Black is self explanatory - but why was Littles holding them down?
Interesting that if Killer Black was alive Prodigy wouldn't have taken any Ls and probably be viewed very differently by the average hip hop fan.

They were friends and Littles was Mobb Deep's manager at one point.

And yeah their history would be different because they've taken a lot of Ls since Killer Black's death, earlier in their careers they were known for being banned from a lot of places and their crew was known for fukking up other rappers/crews.

I wouldn't blame Tragedy though, Killer Black was probably already depressed and stuff. A lot of nikkas in the hood are depressed but it never gets diagnosed because for whatever reason we look down on getting psychiatric help

Plus don't forget he had a goddamn bullet fragment stuck in his skull and refused to go to the hospital. Prodigy says this is when he started acting erratic and unstable.

According to Prodigy, the crew lost a lot of the goons due to death around the time Murda Muzic came out. The goons that used to hold them down like Karate Joe, Yammit etc.

amazingly, this thread was the first time I've heard anyone mention how dude died.

from the way he was repped in those mid-90s QB albums, I thought he went out in a blaze of glory, or died randomly in a car accident or something.

That has nothing to do with what we're talking about. The whole "Lake is Extorting Mega to do the album" came from his mannerisms in that interview, I know because that whole rumor started in the thread on SOHH messageboard. We're not talking about later on Mega not feeling the album or the promotion, we're talking about the extortion shyt, and that's what it stems from. We know Mega regretted doing the album, that's not the discussion
Nah I read a interview somewhere when mega said he didnt really want to do the album but lake in his homeboy. This, mixed with the mannerisms in this interview, and what he said after the fact make it seems like he wasn't interested. Extort may me too strong of a word but he clearly wanted nothing to so with the album. He probably was trying to send a msg tothe other qb dudes (nas mobb etc) that he got more loyalty than them

96? "The words of my man Killa Black that I can't say so it's left to untold fact." That was 95 at least.

I thought there were references to him being dead on The Infamous. Maybe not.

Just noticed that album is overdue for a spin. That was all I played in 9th grade.

Temperature Rising was recorded when he was on the run from killing some dude over walk man earphones.
