Sounds like he got the rights to use the sample from the label and the family of the artist that made the original track said in addition to that he should have came to them and asked them.

The case was dismissed because the label was as far as they had to go to sample it. That's not stealing anything really since the label had the rights.

I believe you. It makes since why even Dr Dre and Timbaland had in house beat makers/producers. Dr. Dre had Chris "The Glove" Taylor producing on The Chronic. And Hittman all over 2001.

It’s one thing to sample and not credit the original because at the very least, he could say he still had some level of creative input by adding his drums, changing the pitch or tempo, etc. but stealing music for AI like this feels even worse because the computer is doing all the heavy lifting.

I read that Suno’s AI will take any music as long as it’s not copyrighted so all those beat submissions he’s been accepting for his twitch streams are probably in the system right now.

Thing is, if the AI can refuse copyrighted music... it means it can accept it, but just not at the general consumer level.

To think a known thief wouldn't make an attempt to get super user access is us not giving Timbaland enough credit.
