They were probably never his fan or was expecting much of him.

Then, I don't wanna hear no; "Why we hating on a brotha doing so much for the community..." every time people critique him

You can't have it both ways; he's a black hero, but, should be held to no standards

It bothersome every solution for black liberation seems to have some money in it for him

I don't think he's a bad guy, either

I'm a fan of his and I see no reason to look at him funny. He's a capitalist, and has been one from day one.

I think many of those in the conscious community are bitter that he was able to create a successful legitimate brand, selling the same info that they were selling, but in a polished package with great production. Meanwhile they were still selling burned CDR's in barbershops and yelling at white people with bullhorns on the corner.

Pretty much. Tariq told em you gotta sell to black folks instead of giving the content out for free. They didn't like that. :francis:
