Programming brehs, is Visual Basic a good language to learn?

Old thread but with the decline in availability of tech jobs it's not too big of a reach to get hired quickly by learning COBOL. If you don't mind keeping Legacy Code up and running.

Side note : COBOL is why your bank deposits only hit at certain times. All that is batch processing of programs at certain times. If it was all written in Java or an even more modern language your stuff might hit as soon as they get it at the bank.

We're talking billions of lines of code though....I say banking dependson COBOL for quite some time.

It's 2025. Python, Java, C/C++, C#, and maybe... Rust if it's not just a fad atm, are all better use of your time.
