How might things have turned out differently if I.T. had been coming off the bench and been keeping his mouth shut?

yes because delly is a REAL PG unlike them other dudes

giphy.gif

Top of the key Delly-Lebron screen and roll, the roll man pushes up hard to cover Delly at the 3pt line, leaving an open rolling Lebron who lays it up for an easy 2

giphy.gif

Delly-Lebron high pick and roll, defense hedges and promptly switches, leaving a rolling Lebron on a much smaller defender, able to use his strength to catch clean possession and throw the lob down

giphy.gif

Delly Lebron high screen and roll, defense hedges, Delly threads the pass to a charging Lebron down the middle of the key, last line of defense big is caught having to respect Kevin Love in the corner, which causes the rotation and rim protection to be late

giphy.gif

Delly-Lebron baseline high screen and roll, man defender gets caught on Lebron screen, roll man defender doesn't push up, waits to contain Delly drive, defensive switch occurs in this possession, Lebron is open on the roll for an easy jam to the hoop as the switched defender is behind and too slow to stop the drive. Poor defensive rotations by Hawks to protect the rim (Or lack thereof)

giphy.gif

Delly-Lebron high pick and roll top of the 3, roll man hangs back and switches to contain the Delly Penetration as the ball defender gets caught in the ball screen, Lebron rolls to the hoop and catches an easy alley oop pass for 2 points

giphy.gif

Lebron does a hand off to Delly from the middle going sideline, then Lebron sets a ball screen for Delly going back middle, the ball defender gets caught in a quality pick, and the roll man defender switches over to contain the Delly drive, who lobs the ball up for a rolling Lebron, who makes a bullet one hand pass to an open Love in the corner due to the weakside defense rotating over to cover the Lebron roll... Love drains the three... Perfect example of how Lebron still uses his dangerous passing and efficient scoring without having to shoot jump shots playing outside in as the ball handler all the time

- Great Delly-LeBron High PnR founded upon a great solid ball screen by LeBron , which got Delly's man defender caught, forcing Carroll to contain Delly's penetration, leading to an easy oop for a rolling LeBron... Threat of shooters on each side of the court... Deadly play; the Middle PnR with spread shooters

george hill is more like delly than he is to kyrie/isiah/mo williams, so yeah

Hell of a post. Man if the cavs fukk around and that nets pick is number one and they get donic.........that euro gonna be running the pick and roll with lebron on some 6-8 to 6-8 stockton to malone.....:wow:

Always felt Delle ran the offense better than Kyrie and the Cavs haven't had an efficient PG since. Might've pushed the Finals to 7 games:yeshrug:

Nah, those are signs that:

1) Cavs ain't got no fukking offense and run "my turn your turn", which was the case with Kyrie. Lebron stands around without the ball and when he has the ball he makes the play(not passing to IT doesn't mean shyt).
2) They're bad on defense because they don't communicate and because IT is a midget that gets beat because he's a midget.

all of this....

I dont see how any other top tier pg is gonna work on this team. Lebron wants a point guard to just shut up and stand in the corner and wait for the pass. There's a reason Kyrie didn't wanna come back here. There's a reason Mo Williams RETIRED instead of coming back

Ben Simmons is a point guard. He has proven this. Not some "point forward" as people like to say. The person that handles the ball and initiates the offense is the PG. That is Ben Simmons...and that is Lebron. For whatever reason though no one wants to label his position as PG even though he initiates the offense at least half the time. Harden always had PG skills but last year he actually PLAYED LIKE a PG.

So in a way you are correct. Neither IT or Kyrie are PG's in the traditional sense, they are scoring guards. the would work better with Bron, just dont think 15 games was enough to gel with IT.

There is no difference between Lebron and Simmons in terms of position except one wants to be called a PG and the other doesnt.

LA will be IT 5th team in 7 years...mostly likely will be moved or not signed by LA in the offseason...there's no hate..dude is journey man who needs a perfect storm to be good., which Boston was and Angie/Stevens still wanted to move on.. ..OBVIOUSLY no team is building around a 5'8" guy....IT as your 1st or 2nd isn't going nowhere..add in his hip injury and inability to guard...this is reality...

1) I hope IT goes crazy in LA and uses all this lebron shyt as motivation

2) if lue was a half decent coach he would have figured out a way to make it work but he’s completely in over his head...
he is not 100%.. can blow past defenders.. always gets stuck.. as he gets healthier.. it will come back.. should ha g-league or off bench at least a month

listen man....people say it was Boston's system or he needs perfect storm, he is NOT a journeyman in terms of talent...his ascension timeline is why he is having such bad luck. if he were an FA last year he'd have a big contract. timing hurts him more than anything.

listen...you can have a great system but the player has to be able to put up the numbers. there are not many players that couldve averaged damn near 30ppg last year even in Boston. you have to have the talent. there are a lot of players that can score that still couldnt have put up those numbers in Boston.

IT is a pure scorer...that is what he is. He can really score with ease when he is healthy.

and stop all this Bron ball b.s. Bron avg 27ppg and Love 18ppg. IT not avg more than 21ppg even if healthy on that team. that goes along with the scorers you play with. if IT were in GS, HOU, Portland, OKC, he wouldnt avg much more than 20ppg because they already have more than one great scorer. nikkas act like Bron and Cleveland just holding him back from scoring...well yeah but thats because its not enough ball. IT can avg over 20ppg easy in L.A. because he just became their number one option. NO ONE on the Lakers can score like IT.

now of the flip side of that. the Lakers clearing space means that IT wont be there next year because they will have two dominant scorers.

IT is no where near 100% from what I can see, he hasnt gotten past the hip physically or psychologically.

Lastly, IT can be a better defender but for whatever reason, he chooses not to be. Team defense is key. If he hounded guys 94' or was dead on them when they crossed the hash mark, he helps the team defense tremendously. nikkas keep talking about how short he is....fukkin talkin points b.s. So all you nikkas saying he is bad defender because he is short, explain to me how a 5'3" guy played for 10 years, started for a good portion of this, guarded players like MJ, yet never avg more than 11ppg and couldnt shoot worth a fukk have a successful career that long.....if he couldnt defend? IT is not a good defender because he is short no more than being 6'5" with long arms makes Harden a great one....he just isnt a good defender, but damn if he cant do some things to help his team on D like Muggsy did.
