I was checking out this interview from up and coming Brooklyn rapper David Stones not too long ago where the interviewer asked him about 50 Cent "borrowing" a line from one of his songs. He was pretty modest with his answer, but Idk how I would feel about Fiddy pullin a move like that if I was him. Fif didn't even shout dude out I mean, that's the least you could do when you "borrow" something from someone. I think it was straight plagarism and if I was a rapper I would've straight used this as a strategic move to build up a buzz and my career. I posted a excerpt from the interview below that I found on the website of the radio show he was on. Is this why New York is so stagnant? Because the older cats rather steal from the younger ones instead of cosigning them and passing the torch? Check it out and let me know what you guys think...

After being asked about rumors of 50 Cent borrowing lyrics from the upcoming Brooklyn emcee David Stones explained, “I did a song 2 years ago in 2010 called ‘Steppin Out’ and in the chorus I say "Young ST steppin out you know I got the weapon out, yeah, that’s what I’m about, I’m on that gritty-new-yitty-city-pretty shyt,”. He then went on to address the similarities in Fiddy’s track while also noting the link that tied both songs together, “we shot a video for it and one of the sites that put it up was BooBooTV“ implying that there’s a good chance of 50 actually hearing the song since it was featured on his official video blog. He continued,“in 2011 50 dropped a mixtape called [The Big] 10 and on the mixtape he had a song called ‘Queens, NY’. In his verse he said ‘We on that gritty shytty, City shyt, New York, New York, Come through on that pretty shyt“. To clear up any speculation once and for all Po then simply asked ST “do you think he got that from you?” and he replied, “I believe so”.

If you look at the date one the youtube videos you could clearly see that David's song was released first so that part of the story checks out :ld:

If you want to know more about this cat David Stones I posted a thread about him earlier here

And if you got 16mins to spare and want to check out the interview in it's entirety I'll post it below...

@Illeye buckmatic I guess you're right. Maybe that's why he played it safe and said 50 "borrowed it". That and he feared that 50 (who has the power to) would end his career before it started, but I'm a little more confrontational, so I would have jumped out the window with this one. I like David, but I think it was kind of a sucker move that he didn't call dude the fukk out and say "stop bitin my shyt" nikka!
