I'm glad some locales are looking at alternatives to property taxes. I know what property taxes pay for. There needs to be another way, whether or not if what is owed continues to be calculated by the value of the home (not that I'm in support of this). Otherwise, you never completely own your home.
i gotta letter from the two weeks ago saying they did a reassessment of my house and it's worth 80,000 more.

Glad you brought that up. If you make certain upgrades or additions, whether you're making the home more liveable for yourself or to make it more desirable to sellers, you're hit twice. You're basically penalized for making improvements to your own home.

some good houses out there if you know how to legally squat on a property. come to cali, we give squatters and tenants more rights than the fukking property owners
