Amends the Student-Athlete Endorsement Rights Act. Provides that if a student-athlete earns more than $250,000 from the use of the name, image, likeness, or voice of the student-athlete, then any academic scholarship granted to the student-athlete shall be reduced by $1 per dollar the student-athlete earns over $250,000.
Do they do this for the rich people who get full ride scholarships? Smh I hope they get negative recruited until they have to change it

for an athlete how is tuition billed in terms of in state vs out of state?
They’re mostly endowed scholarships at big institutions and it’s no different if it was a regular instate or out of state student. I got no problem with this bill.

Rich kids aren’t getting paid for their name, image or likeness either. I could see if you’re a freshman and also want to earn your degree while playing sports. One and dones should DEFINITELY be paying their own way. They’re not there for school anyway.

Be jealous of nikkaz main money brehs
This is precisely what it is.

You think this guy is happy there's black teenagers making money that young? - Illinois General Assembly - Representative Biography

He's fuming every single hour about it and that's why he put this fukked up cap there......and this should basically be considered illegal as far as how I understand compensation to work because he doesn't say what happens when the tuition is fully paid. Does the school keep everything over $250k?

Why would the athlete pay the school when the athlete is the talent? Any real nikka will just negotiate a tuition waiver before committing to the school, or not go to that bytch. How you gon offer me a scholarship and then ask me to pay you? And on top of that yall gonna be selling my jersey and shyt. fukk outta here

I would assume it’s capped out after the tuition is covered. I don’t believe these folks that bold to try and pull off basically robbing folks. They still on that bullshyt though

hmm, would this cause you not to go to school in Illinois if you were an athlete?

If the NIL isn’t being paid directly by the school then none of that shyt should matter.

Why should an athlete have to pay his way because he makes money off sports but the kid from the rich family still gets the free ride? If they are gonna do this then no scholarships for anyone from a family making over 250k either.

If that goes through then Northwestern football and Illinois/DePaul basketball might as well just pack it up.

It’s my name my image and my likeness tho. This whole point is stupid. Do the colleges not make millions off of those kids? If they have to pay for college then colleges shouldn’t make any money off of them.
