Perfect response. I've always felt I must be protective of my woman and family no matter the situation and I still feel that way; a woman that I grow to understand know and love and feels protective is just as great because that connection will definitely be there..
It is about connection I don't believe you can truly be in love with someone and not care about their well being.

brilliant. the thing with most people i find is this:

while man and woman exist in a relationship, often times they forget that there one unit or one entity. coming together on one accord. It like her struggles are his struggles, his pain is her pain , im real protective though when i am in a relationship.. It just one of those things that naturally instill in a man where he protect his queen [[[with me it like one of those things i have to do]]]], although nowadays it seems like it a complete 180. Things of the sort build a bond and a commonality between the two.

Even if you want to break it down in a analogy of chess. The king is said to be the strongest piece, however the queen is the second strongest.

I believe that is because society has become so self centered. Even the sense of community is gone in a lot of places, we aren't protective of our neighbors or neighbor hoods like it use to be. Everybody is looking for themselves. They don't want to be a unit "just in case". It's forget him/her I have to make sure I am ok. I have to prove I don't need them etc... Not needing someone is good and healthy but that separate way of thinking limits relationships.

okay can protectiveness be seen as being insecure?

There are levels, protective, over protective, and insecure. Being protective, the main concern for the other person. Insecurity is mainly thinking about yourself and what someone is doing to you.

I don't feel the need to be protective.
I will step in for people I care about. But if someone puts themselves in a position where they are drawing attention or danger, I will not protect them.
I remember a friend in college was getting drunk and talking reckless at a bar. I told him that if he keeps it up and gets his ass whooped, I am not stepping in to help. If you are going to be a jerk and seek trouble, you will get it.

He calmed down.
Or, maybe he just got sleepy from being drunk. I couldn't be sure.

Edit - As far as protecting my woman, I've never had to. The girls I've dated were classy enough to know how to handle and avoid situations where things would escalate.

Just had a small epiphany about this within myself and was curious to know if others felt the same way. A partner must display a willing desire to protect or the respect/attraction kill switch flips off and he's knick down on the tier. I too must feel that willing desire to protect.

Edit: my bad I get what youre sayin now.

Nah, the king in chess the king is technically the strongest being the numerical value of 6, the queen i believe is 5. thing about that analogy is the queen can move in the direction of a King piece cant. Metaphorically speaking, i look at this as the woman being able to give birth. although a man is involve it the woman that through conception holds and bears that baby for 9 months. I use the chess analogy because it relates to life in a matter of ways

You have 64 squares, now when the sperm hits the egg it goes into a state of meiosis (splitting of cells) going from 2 to 4 to 8 to 64. the being of life but also
if you take 64 which is a compound number of 6 and 4 you get 10, the number ten is a compound number but it is composed of 1 and 0, along time ago

the 1 and the 0 where representative of

1- being the sperm
0- representing the egg

dont understand it either, to be honest just seem arbitrary to not rise to the occasion of the female, whether she is your friend or lil sugar mama.
