You might be retarded…. What part of visiting every two years my whole life did you miss? I clearly said, “ Oh it’s crazy here…. They had protests over in such and such….” is the response to what is going on right now. Where did I say protests aren’t happening? I said, it’s just like here in that if you are not at the site of the protests IN CUBA it’s just something going on in that part of the city. No one in my family is going anywhere near the protests.

and just so you know it’s not even possible to visit only the tourist parts when visiting family because up until about 5 years ago no Cuban could even visit a hotel.

I don't know who's protesting over there and who isn't. I assume that its like here where some are out there and some aren't but may depend on the city. You said that people are exaggerating whats going on over there and I'm seeing differently on social media. So are the videos posted on social media a lie? Is it all a show to fool the Americans? I see pics of the country falling apart posted on social media but you say its an exaggeration. Where are the pics and videos of the Cubans living good this week since its all an exaggeration?

I know it’s hard to keep two different things in your brain at the same time but let me summarize.

I said Cuban Americans exaggerate what’s going on in Cuba in general. Not that people are exaggerating these protests.

I have repeatedly stated that people on the ground are saying it’s crazy over here right now. And I’ll personally add this is clearly unprecedented .

And lastly, the protests are not in everyone’s backyard. Just like it’s not here. So I can’t nor can anyone in my family give you a play by play. But again it’s certainly a significant event.

Also they think the democrats would be softer on Cuba than republicans not comprehending it was democrats (JFK) who instituted the blockade in the first place back in the 60s and continued it along with republican administration's for decades. President Obama's administration was the only one in decades who loosened some restrictions.

My favorite Twitter post this year might be a sitting US Senator just casually admitting to the US purposefully causing human suffering in Cuba, but not even mentioning possibly doing the easiest thing we could to help end that suffering by ending the embargo and putting the onus on the Cuban government.
