Man, a good ground game is crucial to succeed. The online marketing supplements, not replaces, real bodies coming out to shows and showing support.A few cool tips in this thread
I got respect for them nikkaz out there that sell cd's too, I used to actually support them and buy them even if I didnt plan to listen just to show support for someone tryin to grind
In all honesty tho I dont see how far that's gonna get a nikka nowadays, it seems to be more about social media than anything else
It was more feasible for a rapper to come up by doing that local grinding shyt because not everybody was trying to rap like nowadays
It wasn't that easy to get studio time/equipment, production, etc so it was rare that you even ran into nikkaz trying to sell their own music and when you did you would actually be interested
Nowadays everybody rap and swear they got next and if they dont they got a homeboy who got next
People can record music in their own home, create their own album covers then hit the corner, and the fact that it's so easy got everyone doing it and it doesn't have the same effect
Seems like a waste of time trying to get noticed anywhere besides the internet and even online everyone is trying to be a rapper so it's the same shyt different environment
Spamming on message boards and social media make nikkaz more annoying than that dude on the strip trying to sell you his cd

Also, if you do social media right it's NOT spamming, it's interacting.
Well, that's why you have to offer more than just music and tour dates.I feel that but most people are not even interested in buying music from their favorite artists, so they damn sure aint tryin to spend money on MC Such And Such who run up on them in the street
And the few that do damn sure aint about to become such huge fans of MC Such And Such that they'll even show up to a free performance let alone pay for tickets to one
