Whoever said Ghostface....his first tracks are definitely all quality, but he doesn't really have "intros", Jay makes actual "intros" and that's what sets him apart.

Million and One, Dynasty, Diamond is Forever, and even The Ruler's Back is more of an intro than just a first song

But yeah my favorite intro ever is also probably the Dark and Hell is Hot intro....that shyt is just so damn hungry

wot does this even mean

it means quality over quantity, my friend. how many albums got them tracks that you just skip over. a lot of albums, unless they're classic, force you to hit next quite often. i'm saying, why make a 14 song album with a hot intro when you could make 14 albums with just one song. after 10 of those, you could put out a greatest hits with some unreleased introductory piff. don't act like an album of all hova intros wouldn't have you like :whoo:

so basically a consistent album with no filler means all the songs are intros?

:wow:

Nas's track record speaks for itself :mjpls:

http://www.the-coli.com/booth/90652-when-comes-down-album-openers-lost-g-o-t.html#.UUFz8NZHLSg

I tried this with every other MC and no one even came close.

for you youngins, albums used to be judged HEAVILY off the opening track.

back in the day 90% of the time your album opener was your hit single and vice versa.

every track nas has sets the tone for the album perfectly. these opening tracks are packed to the brim with the sort of intros and lyrics that AMP you up.

1) NY State of Mind
2) The Message
3) Firm Fiasco
4) NY State of Mind Pt 2
5) Life We Chose
6) Da Bridge 2001
7) Stillmatic
8) Doorags
9) Get Down
10) A Message To The Feds
11) Money Over Bullsht
12) Surviving The Times
13) Queens Get The Money
14) As We Enter
15) No Introduction

now I am not debating whether these are the best tracks on the albums.

I'm just saying nas has the hands down best opening tracks in an Mcs discography.

guys like rakim, kane, krs, jay-z, bootcamp clik, AZ, mobb deep, GFK etc all sit in his shadow.
