making my point even stronger, the wii won this gen in terms of hardware sold, yet 15 out of its 21 launch games were cross gen, and the wii games dont look any better than the old gen games

I honestly think it might be worse, Yes Sony started at 599 yes it came out a year later but that doesn't explain why they still have been losing marketshare the last 3 year against microsoft. the 360 pretty much is a old ass entertainment console with a DVD drive , a xbl (paywall happy liquid) and faulty as shyt with RROD. sony should have easily recovered and passed MS in the us by now, and realistically they have the better entertainment console with bluray outside of apps.

You're being intellectually dishonest here. PS3 has had a negative stigma attached to it ever since that 599 price was announced. It became the cool thing to do to hate PS3. Even the things PS3 did right got downplayed and shytted on.To this day you got people who act the PS3 versions of mutiplatform games run like shyt and you shouldn't buy them.Act like PSN is the worst online system ever. Plus you had Wii eating up casual marketshare which was a big part of the PS2 fanbase and Xbox taking away a good chunk of PS2 core gamers and PS3 never stood a chance to close the gap in the US...There fate was sealed YEARS ago.

Once I saw gamers willing to go though 3,4,5,6,7 and even 8 RROD 360 systems before even considering a PS3 I knew PS3 never had chance in the US.Never.

The Console will never die,it shall evolve and maybe straight up physical media will go by the way of the dinosaur,but the concept of a set top box in the living room connected to a joystick(with or without wires)will remain a separate entity from the PC!!!!! The Videogame crash of the 80s will never happen again,LONG LIVE THE CONSOLE!!!!!!!!
