Nope. If the system is sold out in stores, best believe prices will increase as we approach Christmas, not decrease, especially the Xboxs.
i've observed this before. back when the 360 came out i used to work at Target and i would go in the back room and pull up the truck sheets and if they were on the truck that next day i'd cop and sell them. in the beginning they were going for over $800 and closer to Christmas they were $600 or less. the people that hold out that you've logically convinced yourself aren't desperate. they hold out in hopes to get one from a retail store and if they can't they resign themselves to something else. the best prices you'll likely see are launch day very early to mid day and from there they'll gradually fall.

not sure about your locale, but on eBay 360s were going for nearly 1000 throughout Christmas. Trust me, I nearly bought one. Now the PS3 I bought on launch day wasn't worth shyt, as I tried to sell it but couldn't make enough money so I ended up keeping it.

dude the reason I sold a PS3 for like $1200 on eBay on launch day is cause I know what I'm talking about. eBay is nation wide not a local and 360s were doing $700-$800 and the closer it got to Christmas the price fell. i observed this and when the PS3s came out i made sure my auction ended the morning they launched and got maximum profits. Doubt me if you want but the people that talk like you are the same ones standing in the return line with the system they wasted every chance to get a profit on trying to be extra greedy.

You might wanna research the 360 launch and eBay cause the stuff you're saying doesn't match what actually happened. when it got into December i was passing on selling them because the profits dwindled too much.

and mind you this was back in the day before eBay raised the shyt outta the fees. I'm not touching eBay now I'm gonna leave mine on Craigslist and if i can't move it there at a midnight launch i'll offer to let someone pick it up if they buy me a game and beyond that i'm just gonna post of Facebook that a friend can pick up the system at no extra charge..

How the fukk neither one of these supports backwards compatibility???????????
because its become unnecessary. they'd rather you buy new games for new systems. and the profit margins on selling the older systems are way higher. if you think about it for these companies BC doesn't make much sense.
