Cant access the site at work.

Glad that the official is coming so soon, I been using the beta for two weeks and it works perfectly. I left crunchy roll (with an episode on pause) and bloodborne suspended for 24 hours and both booted normal (with everything just like I left it).

Left FF type 0 suspended for 2 or 3 days and same thing.

And its so damn fast too :wow:

edit:
Features coming to PS4 with “Yukimura” include:

So u can resume a game even after u turned off the console? (I'm not talking about putting it in sleep mode)

I hate those damn Ink Ribbons in RE HD remake and this sounds like it would eliminate that problem

:lupe:

No, sleep mode. The OS would have to write to the HDD in order to do what your talking about.

@DMP the suspend resume also works while powered on? As in switching to apps like Netflix switches instantly now instead of suspending the game like before?

I can literally unplug my XB1 and have it leave off immediately at whatever game I was playing last

:camby:

Really? cuz everything I read said different.

The game is running on a separate OS using its own allocated set of resources. So when you switch away to an app(not another game though), it's still running in the background. When you turn the XBO "off", the game is just kept in its current state in memory, so when you turn the XBO back on, the XBO waits for you to start playing the game again, and it just starts processing it again from where it left off.
But, since it's kept in memory, that means if the console loses power, the game state will be lost, and you can't resume right where you left off, which means the console is using more energy while "off"(hence the quotes) to maintain that state.
Also as a result of it being kept in memory, that means if you launch another game, the previous game's state is removed from the memory to make room, so you can't have multiple games suspended because there is only so much memory.

and fyi:

Question:
Say there is a power outage and the xbox one turns off between a game? Will the game state be saved when I boot back the console? Would be really helpful if this is possible because I live in a part of world where power outages are a very common occurrence.

Answers:

Ok.... as far as I am aware. No. It won't be saved.
The Resume/Suspend feature is only for Standy mode(Instant On mode) It explains this in the settings and power options.

Nope. No power = equivalent to 'Energy Saving' mode, thus no 'resume game', thus longer initial boot duration.

The hard reboot caused by the power outage would flush the RAM and the 8GB of NAND flash that is probably used for game states.

So, again, it's basically the equivalent to putting your laptop into sleep mode. AKA a low powered state aka "instant on".
