@ the LarryBox 360 pushing 256 last week in Japan.
Yea because the price alone is what made people buy PS4. Nobody cared about Sony last gen.sell a next gen system $100 cheaper than your opponent and brag about sales brehs

It's almost like you guys are really saying, "Xbox One is superior in every regards, it's just the price thats causing it not to sell as well. Like E3 and all the dumb moves they were making had no influence."

Price isn't the ONLY factor though. You walk in the store and one console is said to be more powerful which offer better graphics and the online subscription it requires has free incentives vs a more expensive machine that produces weaker visuals with a more expensive online service that doesn't have the free incentives, it's pretty simple to see which is better in that regards. It's easy to tell the average joe, "You know that 1080P tv you bought for the superbowl last year?? Well the PS4 can play in 1080p most of the time so the games will look sharp. That Xbox One has quite a few games that aren't 1080p". I know what you're thinking, "But the multiplats that's important are usually the same i.e. nba2k, madden, fifa etc." COD wasn't though. BF4 wasn't so the two most important games to the average gamer are running and looking better on PS4.Nobody said any of that. But it's totally disingenuous to pretend that price isn't a factor. History tells us price is one of the most important factors, and industry analysts (not opinion pieces from fool.com) site price as the biggest factor.
You walk in the store two machines are both playing the games you like. BF4, COD,Madden,2k. One is cheaper, your gonna buy the cheaper one. It's not rocket science
Yes.
Was price a factor last generation?
Yup only brand loyalists and people who can't find a ps4 bought an Xbox. Can't believe y'all say this stuff with such convictionPrice isn't the ONLY factor though. BF4 wasn't so the two most important games to the average gamer are running and looking better on PS4. The person who goes with the xbox one must really be either a brand loyalist or either they bought it out of impulse since the other option isn't there most of the time. Price alone isn't the sole factor, if it was the Wii U would've been selling the most units out. The gamecube came out a year after the PS2 at a cheaper price and still flopped for the most part. PS2 was $299.

I'm sure A LOT of people bought the system they wanted to out of brand loyalty, PS4 included. The thing is people are usually compelled to buy what their friends have and if all of them had a Xbox 360, logically they'd move on to the Xbox One. Now if said friends all decided to get a PS4, then one friend who's unable to find one may out of a lack of patience might run out and get a Xbox One.Yup only brand loyalists and people who can't find a ps4 bought an Xbox. Anyway the average person doesn't know or care about any of this stuff. They buy the cheapest system with the games they want on it period.
People who care about resolutions and specs have already done their research. People who show up uniformed don't give a damn and buy the cheapest shyt they see.I'm sure A LOT of people bought the system they wanted to out of brand loyalty, PS4 included. Now if said friends all decided to get a PS4, then one friend out of a lack of patience may just run out and get a Xbox One. My cousin, a Xbox fan since the 360 days almost copped a PS4 just because he couldn't wait one week for the Xbox One to come out. He was about to go out and buy it and then return for a XB1 later on. Luckily he couldn't find one and just got the XB1 when it launched with ease. The average person may not know or care about this stuff you say?? They may not know but rest assured when they go into the store the sales guys will let them know that or they've probably heard about it somewhere. Do they care??? Maybe, maybe not.
Yeah, around here saying "Xbox is selling just fine" or "price is a factor" is framed as outrageous. But claims of Xbox is gonna fail, covert Xbox employees, conspiracies, amazon is gonna buy Xbox, and other random twitter rumors are all passable. It's funny you say how can i say this with such conviction when you yourself say some of the most outrageous claims on here purporting to be a independent consumer with no biases. Please.
I can't count how many times I heard someone just cop a XB1 because they couldn't find the "cheaper" system as you call it. Mix those shoppers in with the die hard loyalists, new tech enthusiasts and the so called casuals who don't care about this stuff(If they didn't care wouldn't they just stay on PS3/360 since that still has the games they want?) and you have the demographics for who's buying these consoles.
So a company that was laying people off several times last year wouldnt put their games on Nintendo hardware if Nintendo got with the program and made a box that was profitable for 3rd parties? We'll see about that, I feel like they might have lost some 3rd party partners forever (specifically EA)
Consoles havent sold well in Japan is quite some time so I'm not quite sure what you were expecting from these numbers. It's a handheld market and will continue to be. I imagine Sony will be more than happy if they can get 10 million lifetime PS4 sales from this region and this is a good start. This is honestly a flop, but you nikkas are desperate for wins however you can get them so enjoy another console sales circle jerk..
And also, word on the street is that there is plenty of stock on store shelves. So i guess that means that the lauch was a universal failure right?
