Kinect has 4 array mics, the same as the Kinect 2.0 and the PS3/PS4 eye. The problem with that set up is multi player online is everyone is talking coming through your home theater system. With a headset you have privacy in your conversation.

thats if you care to make it private. thats your choice. its just a game. who cares whats being said? if you do, get a headset. its real simple. if you dont. you wont need one like you have in the past. since kinect 2.0 has better audio signal processing where it gets rid of the extra noise coming from the speakers and focuses on your voice. see that video in this thread again.

I think your remedial ass is missing the point...those one ear headsets ARE TRASH, I don't care who makes them, how you connect them and what consoles they are associated with. Unless i'm talking to someone on a phone with one I don't want them anywhere near me.

The last time I used a headset that covered one ear was 2010. I'm never going back to that shyt. That's some caveman shyt, especially if you can afford something better.

basically what i've been saying since day one. the specs of both systems dont move me. cause we've been thru this last gen. i was all over the ps3 specs. and yet you could barely tell the difference in graphics later on in the gen. as far as gameplay most people would not be able to tell which system they were playing the same game on if you covered them up.i suspect that will be the same thing this time around...Except...for when you're playing online. that cloud has boosted the xboxs only capabilities. for a guy like me, who plays multi player games on line. i would have to go with the box over the ps4.

Can't use just buy cheap adapters to use current name brand headsets on the next gen consoles like you can now with PC headsets on 360/PS3 ?? Or am I missing something? Wasn't this how serious players got high quality headsets cheaper than buying ones specifically for a console?

no shyt...but if you learned comprehension you would realize I prefer a headset that can be used for gaming + voice chat when playing certain games instead of using my surround sound for the game + headset for voice chat, I find it annoying for me and the ppl I play with. I don't wanna hear explosions and gun fire in the background while i'm communicating with something and I know ppl feel the same way.

i comprehend just fine lil nikka... you called the ear piece trash for no reason other than your personal preference. the piece is used for chatting. THATS IT...i'm guessing you plug it into your controller... so its not blu tooth, so it probably wont even pick up noise in the background

I don't care what headset will work with the PS4 when it covers one ear...they're all trash imo

But it wasn't perfect. Often times you couldn't hear people, or people would be blasting some wack ass song thinking they cool. On xbox it was a snap to mute them but a lot of people don't read and didn't know how to do that. Anyways, this upcoming gen Xbox One is using Wi-Fi Direct instead of Blue-Tooth because Wi-Fi Direct shyts all over blue-tooth and will become the industry standard in the same way as HD became the standard for television. If you have an up to date cell phone like a Galaxy 3/4/note? You already Wi-Fi Direct compatible. Also, your old bluetooth products may not be compatible with the new blue-tooth 4.0 standard but you didn't hear that from me
