they won't split their userbase like that. There's a reason why they said that.
That all goes out the window if they just make it the start of a new gen. Problem is the price. Delay it until 2018 as a new gen start with it's own exclusives and bam.

You can get ultra settings 1080p60 on a PS4Pro with it's specs (significantly more cats have 1080p sets than 4k ones).

I wanted to say this is one of the WOAT generation ever for the consumer but this is the new industry standard so I can't be upset. 
A lot of great games between both consoles but this multimedia push turns me off. I always felt we had a lot more variety in games in quantity and quality.

They don't have to. This is under the assumption that the Scorpio will come out at a cheap price and suddenly destroy and overtake the market. A PS4 Pro next year will go for $350 thanks to price cuts. A Scorpio probably gonna run for $450+. On top of that, Sony has the exclusives library backing it's platform, Scorpio doesn't.
It's still held back by Xbox One/PS4 because devs have to make games work on those platforms too. The PS4 Pro will be the best selling PS4 SKU this year/next year and Scorpio won't effect it at all.
When Naughty Dog unveil their next IP/game, no one is going to even care about an Xbox. All eyes will be on PS4.

The Pro, specs wise, will look redundant next to the Scorpio. Pricing will definitely be key so well see how that plays out.
Scorpio\X1 will have very similar SKUs. MS have made a concerted effort over the last couple years to operate homogenously from the phones, tablet to gaming devices.
Scorpio could\shoild have have BC with X1 & 360 not to mention MS have credible IPs of their own (Halo, Gears, Forza etc)
Naughty Dog aren't system sellers like that so that last point is some what moot. Didn't UC4 only do 4 mill? Were it GTA\COD you'd maybe have a point
Naughty Dog games are system sellers. The Last of Us sold like 7 million on PS3 alone. UC4 sales aren't known yet. The only sales that were published are the 2.7M first week sales. The series has sold over 28 million before UC4 came out. That's more than Gears of War series which sold 22.
Besides ND games, God of War, Horizon and Spiderman are looking like it'll move PS4s. Plus The Last of Us 2 should be in development by now. Also we're forgetting a game that ironically pushed a lot of PS4s already: Destiny. Destiny was said to be a system seller even though it's not exclusive.
I'm not sure what you mean by BC with X1. You mean the OG Xbox? If so that'd be great.
