Yeah, that's true. All first person games can be made to work with VR I think. Oculus even showed a third person platformer that worked with VR. I think a lot of games will be compatible.
The problem is movement. First person games where you are stationary work. But anything where you will be moving around a lot will be difficult to pull off.

That's what the controllers are for though. And there is the camera you put in front of the VR headset that can track movement.

Think about how crazy it would be to try to walk with the anolog stick, aim with your head, and shoot with the triggers.

I'm sure a game can be built around it, but they won't be able to throw existing fast paced games like COD on there.

a lot of people have talked about the sensation of moving, while not actually moving, being very disorienting, and even causing motion sickness. I guess the problem is fooling your visual cortex into thinking you're walking, but your inner ear isn't feeling the motion. it creates a dilemma for your brain

that's why a lot of people liked SteamVR, since a lot of it's demo's involved actually walking around

I was an oculus kickstarter backer and got development kit 1 when it first came out. I've been telling people this was the next big thing for years. I personally know six people that have bought rifts after trying mine once. Facebook has 1 billion users and too much money to let VR be a failure. It might not takeover next year but it's inevitable that it will, especially when they get it down to the size of reading glasses.

Oculus has, already gone on record that the rift will be more than $350. VR, isn't going to be cheap, I'm going with PSVR, because of it's plug and play nature, and I already have the camera and 2 moves and a nav controller. I fully expect the PSVR stand alone 300.00 since it is not as spec heavy as the PC VR systems.

This impression sounds very promising. He mentioned how he couldn't see pixels, which is shocking for the resolution of the display. Sony says it's because of their experience with cameras and optics. If this is true, Sony might have a game changer. Even much higher resolution VR headsets have visible pixels.
