It's a dumb move but a lot of people (including myself) use the cross gaming chat feature. Why chat with brainless morons who can't even play, when you can just talk with your friends?

Exactly. I'm always in a party with my real life friends, fukk public chat. I'm white and I would get called the n word like 4 times a day on COD's public chat. Bunch of inbreds on XBL sometimes

Easy way around that, make it so only squad leaders can talk on the open channel, make it important for squad leaders to communicate with one another, while inter squad chat is still available. And I don't see why proximity chat isn't an option as well.'
