"Got the nerve as hell to yell brother man, he ain't black man better yet he's Pac Man. Known to murder his own, traitor on the the phone ridin the train, self hater trained to sell pain, the massa's toy, his lil boy hard to avoid he look wit it but he null n void, cause he ridin the train you think he down for the cause?......Cause his face lookin just like yours.":mjpls::damn::wow::whew:

If you was black, Public Enemy was your granny, mama n daddy's favorite rap group.

Pete Rock Remix

One of the dopest things I remember about PE back in the day was how every physical copy was accompanied with sheet lyrics to every song on the album. Chucks voice was powerful but when you read along to what he was REALLY spittin while you were listening......It was like damn? That's what he mean, shyt!:whoo:Hearing that gotdamn train horn on your headphones travel from the left side all the way to the right:gladbron:while Flav was attempting to sing that hook off key n shyt:russ:Man that shyt was only just the intro before they hit you with.....

Crazy when you think how PE, Cube, n others had to try and follow up after droppin albums that ended up solidifying their places in hip hop history. Apocalypse was so dope but they had to follow up that muthafukka after droppin It Takes A Million and Fear:damn:Cube dropped Death Certificate the same year.....Mainstream hip hop for yo ass back then. A whole nother time, but the themes of these albums are STILL relevant TODAY more than ever.

I can never get tired of listening these albums. Have them all ready to pass down to my seeds when they are older like my pops n uncles did for me musically.

5 stars, dap and + rep :myman:

public enemy is the goat hip hop group, period. chuck's lyrics and voice are out of this stratosphere. listenin' to him spit is like listenin' to a great speech bein' read but in rhyme form. then you got the bomb squad with the this great ass production. those guys were truly innovators.

i too always thought it was really cool how they included

classic thread @The_Hillsta , really great. this is hip hop at it's best :ohlawd:

Never even knew there was an uncensored version of Get The fukk Outta Dodge:whoo:Musta been on a b-side single. I remember the video getting play and then disappearing like By The Time.

"I'm in the streets on New York.....GO AWAY!!!!!!!:russ:So I pop in my Kool G Rap DJ Polo tape....":banderas:

Apocalypse 91 is sooooo underrated as...not only a PE but Hip Hop album.

:salute:

My brother used to jam Yo Bum Rush, he first put me on so when Nation n Fear dropped I was full fledge. Bought Fear and Apocalypse with my own bread, personal fav.....

My boi came to school with "Shutemdown" designed in his high top fade when the single was everywhere :steviej:

That remix tho:whew::damn:

It's crazy how people act like all 80s acts fell off after their noted classics, the OP is so right. I hate the concept of "definitive" albums because it's used to ignore shyt that came afterwards. Death Certificate is better than Amerikkka's Most Wanted in some ways but people act like they can only hype one album. smh

My uncle used to say that Apocalypse doesn't get love because it doesn't have an iconic album cover like the previous albums. In some ways I think he's right lol. People wanna use any excuse to dismiss albums..

Apocalypse 91 doesn't get as much love as It Takes A Nation and Fear Of A Black Planet but it's got some of my fav PE songs on it

Yeah, its like gotdamn...How do you top Nation n Fear. Kinda like Amerikkka's Most n DC when Cube dropped Predator.......Not on THAT level but still a dope muthafukkin album.
