The ones who deny and have roots there are idiots. The islands were literally slave colonies used to produce goods to enhance the wealth of whatever European nation laid claim to it at the time. But to be fair to Puerto Ricans they are not as unloving of their African heritage as Dominicans and Dominicans are really saying that because they don't want anyone to lump them in with Haitians...

From my experience, Puerto Ricans and Panamanians embrace more of their African heritage than Dominicans or other Hispanics

Why are these discussions always so binary? Panama and Puerto Rico are both multi ethnic countries with people of varying ethnicities and ancestries.

There is no "Spanish race"...
All these Western nations were colonized the same way the United States was, therefore they all have similar mixtures and backgrounds...
I said "spanish race" specifically to highlight their muttness. Tongue in cheek. They not my people so I am not obliged to give them any humanity
