Yeah I hear that.

Beanie Sigel said in an interview. Jay saw him writing his verse in a studio and threw away his notebook and said he should do it in his head lol.

I call suspect on more of the intricate rhymes Jay and Big tend to do, that's hard to pull off coming without pen and paper to see your rhyme pattern, subject on point, and etc. Also not Jay but Biggie has been caught using pen and paper. RA the Rugged Man told DJ Vlad Biggie used a pen and pad when writing his verse for their record.

Biggie always went home to use a pen and paper in my opinion because he has never recorded a verse in any collaboration while the other artists were there. He always went home. The Lox, BTNH, Brooklyns Finest, etc, Biggie always went home first then came back to record by then you could memorize anything. I give Jay more credit for coming off the top when writing with no pen or paper. Biggie is far more suspect lol.

But hey they are both mega skilled at rapping however their formula lol, the new generation need to at least master the art of writing though. :hubie:
So what they do is write mad raps on paper to no beat, then when they're in the studio, they recall some of those more intricate rhymes schemes to the verse they are writing in their head.

Jay Z does not freestyle. He writes in his head ,memorized the whole verse and then records it in one take. Lil Wayne writes 4 to 8 bars at a time, and keeps punching until the verse is done. When Wayne does songs with somebody good like Eminem, he disappears for 3 hours ,writes his verse down and then comes back to the studio when it's memorized. You can hear on certain songs that he stays on topic and his tone is the same throughout. The Wayne clones like thug could never rap that good because Wayne doesn't freestyle. He thinks about what he's gonna say first. Lil Flip is the only rapper that was really freestying 16 bar verses on studio albums
I know bro, lol. They memorize it, that's what I'm saying, it sounds and flows naturally when you do that imo, as opposed to holding a paper. I'm not saying any of them freestyle verses/songs, aint no way possible, lol.

Yeah it would just be an incoherent mess if they free styled like thug. He freestyles 2 bars at a time and still can't come with anything clever. I'm still wondering who wrote thugs verse on rmr rascal remix

Chasin' these blue strips, often elusive
Nemesis nuisances, they label us with they two cents
Recruiters to shooters, they harassin' us, I'm pursuin'
Ride for what's right, the news reporters, they lootin', man
Illusion, propaganda
They even try to break us down and point guns with our hands up

I still don't even believe thug knows what the word elusive means, no way he wrote this unless he's been trolling us all this whole time

This is still music

Rapping a verse straight through isn't always the best for the music

True, but neither is punching in every 2 bars.

Punching in in itself is fine and sometimes even required for certain flows, but it’s often used as a crutch for lazy songwriting and weak breath control nowadays

So looking at this video I get the punching in thing but would it not be better to write down some of their bars beforehand to at least get an idea of what they want to rap about?
It would, but those types as rappers are just those “vibey” ones that aren’t really saying anything anyway. There’s multiple Playboi Carti song are there straight up aren’t any actual sentences. He’s just making noises :gucci::dead:

I wonder how they do shows. I like Maxo
Kream but dude is notorious with that shyt lol. Do he even do concerts? I’m like how does a punch in rapper sound in a live concert.

EDIT: found his rolling loud set.

He has a back track :scust: and there’s a lot of him dropping the mic so he can catch his breath. That has to be a crazy sounding live show smh

Niiggas doin Karaoke.
