I don't think this discussion needs to take place really, facts are facts, numbers are numbers. Vince himself specifically came back on numerous RAWs bc he was so worried about the ratings.

to humor this, the only reason ppl point these out is bc this dude goes on tv and speaks about himself in the same boat as Steve Austin, The Rock, etc

He's been champion for a year and the ratings are terrible as result, but why are we acting like the product wasn't shytty and ratings were ass before hand anyway? Not to mention, ratings were exactly through the roof in the past when Eddie and Benoit were champions. This shyt is stupid. Just give me good programming every week and i would be fine. I could care less how many million across the world are watching it with me at the bottom of the hour or during the overrun

Orton isn't a huge draw in general, but with the right storyline, he did draw. When he was at his hottest in early 09 they were pulling big numbers, doing 4.0 or close it overruns a few times, like when he punted Vince.

What it comes down to is that CM Punk drew money one night in his life, and even that was 200k PPV buys on a show that would've done 180k without the "I'm a shooter, I'm leaving the business" gimmick. I would laugh at this if I wasn't so scared for the future of the business.

I just LOL because everyone loves pointing out that Nash was such a box office flop. As long as it's not an IWC darling, it's all well and good to call out lack of draw power.

As soon as it's a guy that the IWC wanks to, they get all about ratings talk.

Eddie was a ratings success on Smackdown. That's why his storylines were pushed ahead of Batista's and given the most time.
