Group wise, The Lox has "Money, Power, Respect" and "Ryde or Die Chick". Those songs had impact.

Solo wise, Jada has "We Gon Make It", "Knock Yourself Out", "Time's Up" and "Why".
That’s like saying Grindin had impact or Let Me Love You had impact :camby:

Name me one era when Jada was clearly the top MC and had a chokehold on the game? In fact name an era when the Lox were dominating as a group? G-Unit had their run, Wu had their run - even Dip-Set had their run….when was the Lox era?

Even a group like Mobb who while never dominating, made an impact in that they created a sound that pretty much the whole of QB latched onto - what’s the Lox legacy as a group other than mixtapes, which to add G-Unit and Dip-Set were doing better in the Lox’s hey day :jbhmm:

The impact argument is a copout to fit the narrative at the moment. Its largely a meaningless metric when it comes quality of music because artists are never 1:1 comparison.

Soulja boy certainly has had more impact on the direction of pop rap than freddie gibbs in his lane. But Freddie has shyt like pinata :mjlol: you telling me as a fan of good rap music soulja is more deserving of being on a top rapper list cuz he basically was the forefather of a lot of wack shyt.

Hell lil b has more impact than a lot of nikkas favorites :mjpls: lets not go down this road
Impact by its true definition should be culture shifting moments (i.e The Chronic, The Blueprint, Get Rich, Late Registration - shyt even DS2). But agree that it shouldn’t be taken in isolation as what makes a rapper better than another because there’s been a lot of bullshyt that’s shifted the culture and not for the better. I’m picking up on that because fools are running around the thread talking about a song had ‘impact’ because they liked the track :mjlol:

Eminem had more impact than 99% of rappers ever while releasing dookie for the past 20 or so years.

GOAT :mjpls:?

Most top 50s in the real world are going to include

Longevity
Impact
Skills
Classics
Hits

Pusha can rap, but is essentially being asked to be graded on a "curve" like them griselda dudes...

Even someone like trick daddy has a better claim to a top 50...
Pusha isn't being graded on a curve. Y'all just prioritize the "hit" element above the others. All Top 50 guys do not exceed in all 5 factors.

"Grindin" had impact though. "Let Me Love You" was Justin Timberlake's debut as a solo artist even though I'd say "Cry Me A River" was the record that really made his solo career.

Jada was never the Top MC and The Lox was never the top group. Same is true of Pusha T and The Clipse.

They don't have to exceed in all 5..

There has never been a point where nationally or regionally nikkas were wildin out to a pusha t album/verse/song/mixtape

This is Jim's whole point...

I think pusha last album was good, but Jim ain't tellin no lies

Push has a mark in every criteria you listed outside of a mainstream hit. And cats are using group songs/features for other artists so the bolded is debatable if not flat out false.

The bolded also again, proves the "hit" is the element used to trump the others.
