On Her Majesty's Secret Service is probably one of the best Bond movies. Say what you will about George Lazenby. I think that most people's issue with him is that he wasn't Connery. Which just goes to say that Connery is fukking Bond. In fact, that's a matter of fact. Sean Connery is James Bond. Now that that slight rant is out of the way, On Her Majesty's Secret Service is very underrated. It was very talky in the beginning, which may be what turned some people off. And when the action gets going, it gets going. Also, that ending. :mjcry:

Breh:wow:

Casino royale
From Russia with love
Sky fall
On her majesty’s secret service
Dr. No
Thunderball
Living daylights
Goldeneye

If you want something sillier or lighter:

Live and let die
Spy who loved me
Goldfinger
Tomorrow never dies

The rest you can throw in if you want but the ones I listed will hit both ends. You get the serious bond, you get silly bond, and you’ll get the ones with the best mixture of both and the most important flicks in the franchise

Goldfinger is the quintessential Bond-film so start with that.

Dr No, From Russia With Love, The Man With The Golden Gun, Goldeneye, Casino Royale and On Her Majesty's Secret Service should be next.

I think those flicks set you up enough to delve into some of the sillier but still iconic films such as The Spy Who Loved Me, Live And Let Die and You Only Live Twice.

Also @Zero and @steadyrighteous and anyone else looking for the crash course, if you go from dr no to goldfinger you’ll notice an evolution in the portrayal of bond. Connery plays him differently in the beginning than goldfinger. And it’s not entirely an acting choice.

By the time he’d got to goldfinger he was unhappy with the bread and felt the producers were holding out on him and that reflected in his performance. He also felt goldfinger was the point where the series became more about the gadgets than the man, which is also reflected in his performance.

There’s this gigantic bond book on Amazon that has all those awesome details if you’re a bond geek like me.

The lazy in me wants to just go “:ld: I’mma start with Craig and call it a day. Pre-Craig Bond is for the die-hards.”

But the procrastinator/couch potato in me is like “:whoo: I could burn a good 6 months watching every Bond”

I’d watch the best ones from each guy if you want to do it quick. If you want the full experience then...yeah go do that

Yeah that might be it.

What’s the best individual Bond film by every pre-Craig guy - I’ll watch those and then watch all the Craig ones.

Late with the response but @MartyMcFly gave you a good list.

Having said that, if you watch the older ones and aren't feeling them because they're dated, jump directly into the Daniel Craig ones. They're not all good but they do give you a decent feel for what Bond is.

Fred.
