My cousin used to watch it, i always figured it was just like Saved by the bell but darker

It depends. Do you like or watch Teen/Young Adult dramas? Do you watch CW (or older WB) shows? Or maybe you just wanna relive a Pop-Culture relevant show from the late 90's/early 00's period.
If you said yes to the 2nd question, I would recommend it only because it was the show that put the old WB network on the map. But their were better non-genre shows that aired on "The WB" like "Gilmore Girls", "Felicity" or "Everwood".
lol it's a very guilty embarrassing pleasure, I watched all the seasons a year or so ago, and watched it a little when I was 14 or so, have the box set....I bring it out when I'm in the mood sometimes...Very well written, good characters, dialog, but it is a teenage soap opera.

It was alright. Not emmy bait by any means, but it launched the career of several people, most notably katie holmes. It was the lynchpin of a turning point for the WB from the black network to the young teen network.
Watch it. Acting is average, but they deal with some serious issues and not make a joke of it like some other shows ie Unhappily Ever After
