What does that have to do with the Spurs offense firing on all cylinders @ a historic level :jbmm:

Prime Kobe wins in 2011, 2012 and 2013, 2015...these are the facts. 2014 is the only one he would not and the reason you are using it as an outlier.

Hmm the Mavs team swept the Lakers that season out of the playoffs with Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol and Ron Artest.

GRAND CLOSING.

buddy didn't think this thread thru at all.

I gotta get my chit off real quick tho.

ugh the mavericks team had no business beating the heat

scust :scust:

And prime kobe I'm talking trash smash parker kwame brown years, leading the league in scoring making all nba first team defense

dragging them into the playoffs in the west

the mavericks were the ideal team to beat the heat that year. they were set down low while Miami was fragile on the interior. plus on top of that, dallas' roster was stacked all the way down to the injured reserves.

as for kobe, the heat would've imploded with him in there instead of LeBron.

why do you dudes on here always try to compare kobe to LeBron? is there some sort of coli rivalry that I don't know about?

:mjlol:

How? I don't want hyperbole, how?

Russ and KD combined for 52ppg 12rpg and 10apg, and the Thunder lost by an average of 10ppg because the Spurs had 6 guys in double figures vs them. That Spurs offense was historically great in the playoffs, and they had a top 5 defense ontop of it.

Kobe wasn't going to average 60ppg against them, and the Heat couldn't stop them from scoring efficiently, so HOW.

You know that you won't get an intelligent reply from a Kobe Stan. These are the same people who blame the 2004 finals on Shaq for fukks sake :pachaha:

I don't know how to tell you this....but

The Heat won the title in 2013. People in this thread are arguing that the Heat with Kobe in 2014 beats the Spurs, the team that was shytting on everyones defense with all-world offense.

I'm listing EVERY Bron final. Bean only loses 07, 14, 16.

@Poitier is a more reasonable, he will -

raw

If you ever get him boxed in though :lolbron:
none of these fools are reasonable. they think with an iffy defense playing, non-passing, low IQ shot taking, worse rebounding player in place of LeBron that the cavaliers would be better off. instead of assessing blame last night to the second and third best player on the team for playing no defense and combining to shoot a very Kobe in the finals-esque 36% in the game, they seem to think that it's someone else's fault. Then in another thread they'll go and argue that he's playing on a super team. It's like expecting intelligent sports talk from boston area sports fans

Kobe has always been a great play maker what are you talking about
Excuse the fact that you're a Kobe stan, but when you say GREAT playmaking, you're talking about dudes like Steve Nash, Jason Kidd, Magic. Hell Derek Fisher could be considered higher in a "good" tier than Kobe. Ain't no way in hell Kobe is a GREAT playmaker.

You mind telling me which of those series during the "3 central years of Kobe's prime" was his team the betting favorite in?:jbhmm:

Why are you limiting it to what happened in the playoffs?

Why were Kobe's teams so bad in the regular season that they were only averaging 40 wins and picking up 7-8 seeds at best (or missing the playoffs) during the middle of his prime?

OBVIOUSLY, team matters, and talking about playoff success without context, much less rings, to compare players straight-up is idiocy.

I mean, LeBron stans created a thread saying that betting odds showing a team as the underdog means it's understandable for them to lose.....

http://www.thecoli.com/threads/lebr...ed-to-win-the-finals-2-out-of-6-times.432859/

...so why is that same thought process not being applied here?:jbhmm:[/QUOTE]

That DOES show why it's understandable for them to have lost those series. It's a way of proving that no one "choked", but did exactly what they were expected to do based on the quality of the team.

I am using the exact same process here. I didn't say that Kobe choked in the playoffs. What I said was that he was completely unable to elevate his team beyond a 1st-round loss even the middle of his prime. Those 2007, 2014, and 2015 Lebron teams would have taken a miracle to be better than a Finals loser....it was crazy that the 2007 and 2015 teams even got to the Finals...and by the same token, it looked pretty damn hard for Kobe to lift those 2005-2007 Lakers to anything other than 1st-round losses. Which proves that just counting rings or expecting a superstar to magically elevate any team they get, regardless of context, is a really stupid way to evaluate them.

:camby: Those Heat teams werent built for Kobe at all. LeBron was the best rebounder, the best passer, and the best defender on those Heat teams. Kobe takes a lot of awful shots and there would have been no one to clean up his mess. There would be no place to hide him on defense either. They would have been an average team with Kobe and we would hear constant bytching about him starting next to guys like Joel Anthony, an old Mike Bibby, Mario Chalmers, Toney Douglas, etc.
