You’re conflating two different things. The right to self defense and the right to use deadly force
Are two different things. Self defense protocols are in place to ensure a reasonable escalation of force. Dudes ball up their fists and gesture all the time only to not do a damn thing. The shooter would have to prove without a shadow of a doubt that his life was in danger. That video doesn’t show that.

Also, the guy who got shot always had the option to walk away. You're not entitled to anything. If a dude says he has no interest in fighting you and you keep pushing it, you're not going to get much sympathy. He was warned.
