The D (where it's so cold)
Some of these have already hapenned

  1. Tim Duncan is an American citizen but not really american. Sure some will claim him as american since he's from the Virgin Island which is a U.S. territory. But last i checked we consider Puerto Ricans to be Puerto Ricans. Not America... except on paper.
  2. Hakeem Olajuwon - Was the best player in Basketball by default while Jordan was out. Born in Nigeria if im not mistaken
I'm pretty sure there are all Pro non americans who are in the NFL

Suh is Nigerian, right?

Suh is Cameroonian, same difference I guess. Definitely agree with the Hakeem point, though.

So college is where life begins for y'all? :sas2:
Yet y'all have 17 and 18 year olds in the military and want 18 year olds playing in the NBA and NFL :sas1:
man dont make this a big thing. My intent was players who LEARNED THE GAME elsewhere and came to america as professionals.

I just found out Suh was born in Portland so he can be claimed as american :manny:
Truth is most kids who grew up in foreign countries dont get the opportunities to display their talents in the U.S. Else you would see a greater amount of them in these team sports. When you add the fact that some of these countries dont have the infrastructure for these atheletes to improve their bodies and skills you see why they are at such disadvantage when it comes to team sports. Thus why they excel in sports like track (marathon to be exact) which requires just land to run on. See it's funny. As much as young athletes here complain, little do they know that from some other athletes perspectives, american athletes basically have silver spoons in their mouths with all your million dollar high schools gyms and sh!t.

Hakeem learned the game elsewhere. He just never played organized ball until in the U.S. if im not mistaken.

I see your point tho but please quit with the college thing

Excluding the international players that went to American colleges, we've already seen Dirk Nowitzki win an MVP and be in the argument for best player in the league (at worst he was in the top five discussion), so I'll vote for that.

I don't think a non-North American NFL player that didn't go to college will ever happen, let alone be a pro bowler.

A Euro becoming the #1 player in the NBA seems the most realistic to me.

Dirk Nowitzki was an MVP :manny:

I don't see an American becoming #1 footballer any time soon, heck there has never been a top 20 or so American footballer :yeshrug:
