:russ:....everything....and I'm glad you said Drake is a pop artist....now don't you ever forget that....:lolbron:....

He is a pop act. I'm not even a drake fan. I guess I should have been a real nikka and said that drake is a "real hip hop rapper":skip:, well obviously you think he is but I don't, he's pop.

Jay is even more important in the culture now than he was back in 2001

You notice damn near every rap artist both young and old bows down to hov on some respect sht

You notice Jay is the singular figure of the culture who commands the culture to such an extent

Peep his tidal movements breh

This isnt some Drake vs Nas or common type sht breh
Jay has power both culturally and business wise
If Jay wanted to he can really damage Drake's career greatly

Jay ismuch more powerful than he was in 2001 breh if u cant see that then u delusional

Ok you think that majority of drake stans and people who buy his music and the cacs who back him care about the culture. I don't think that, so that's where we disagree.

Yea but Jay Z is held in high regard by the now influencers of the youth culture

Thats the difference...Unlike others
Jay's image is still very significant to the culture

I.E magna carta going double platinum

Didnt mean Jay needed someone to protect him, edited it. Apple/Jimmy has more pull/connections than Jay has do they not. All I'm saying is Jay is not gonna end his career in one song. It's gonna be a bigger fight than you guys make it out to be.

He doesn't have to "end his career" as in his ability to make songs that or even chart with them. What will...and already has happened is all kinds of chinks in the armor that is his LEGACY.

I said it before in another thread...In Hip Hop, you can do "Big Willie Style" numbers and still be a fukking joke. Just because the masses buy your shyt doesn't mean your perception hasn't changed with the core.

And if you can't tell Drake's handlers weren't shooting for a "Will Smith" type career...they want him to be a LEGACY artist. You lose your credibility, you can sell all you want, your legacy is shot. He even said in that bullshyt fader article that he didn't want to be seen as a product...

If people start to perceive him as someone who takes other people's music and put's his celebrity behind it that's exactly what he's going to go down as.

Jay-Z is already bigger than Drake. Drake is still just "hot", his career can easily take a turn at any moment, his catalogue is not that memorable.

i genuinley like hotline bling, made me revisit drake catalogue and boy. that dude music is truly horirible. he is a horrible almost amteurish rapper. no art to his voice and delivery, its all very unsophisticated. listen to his first albums, its the same flow on every song. how is this dude this big?

LOL...I would have thought a bytch typed this up....:russ:...bruh if Jay Z dropped a diss on drake....it would definitely have an effect...you're lucky it will never happen though...

Nah it's going to happen, especially after that 30 for 30 shyt. In fact if Jay let's him get away clean with that bullshyt it's going to look bad on his behalf IMO. He's already dissed him by name before...and you know he "loves the attention" :ahh:

When an opportune moment presents itself he's going to shyt on dude. nikkas trip me out with this "Hov is a boss, he ain't got time for all that" shyt...Drake isn't Jim Jones. And corporate shill or not Jay is still Hip Hop.
