shyt is Nasty. I still find it amazing how dudes like Q-tip, Premo, Pete Rock, Extra P, whom were all top producers at the time, rallied around a teenage/young Nas at the time. They must've knew, or had some type inclination, that he was an absolute game changer to hip-hop.

Honestly, the album version of Memory Lane is miles ahead of the demo. I love how every producer stepped their game up. The original version of Represent is trash too. Then Premo went back into the lab and came with that Thief of Baghdad sample....

Cool, never heard this. Def gives a whole new vibe to the track. Be cool to hear a lot of the beats from all the producers that were submitted and ultimately rejected.

he lost a ton of unreleased shyt and a shytload of his vinyl collection in that house fire that happened in 1998.
i still remember seeing the pic of him in the source with the article about the fire and looking like. shyt is so fukked up, between that fire and the wu-mansion flood, hip-hop has seen some terrible injustices befallen two of its best groups ever.
